Details of your catches:

11x 20's 8x 30's 3x 40's 1x Grassy I only fished 4 to 5 hours a day as the weather was lovely, mid 30's most the week, so I spent most afternoons having a chill out by the pool and a few beers! We also had a few trips out to the local towns (which we highly recommend, the local scenery is superb)! No need to fish at night as the early morning and evening were great bite times. Fished 2 rods most the time as we have several double runs and trying to get 2 fish on the bank with just one angler was tricky, the girls did a great job helping out with the photos and helping me unhook and weigh the fish!

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

I baited regularly with Urban Baits Spicy Red Fish and Nutracker, 5-10 baits over each spot every 15 or so minutes. Bites came really quick, you will know if you are in the wrong as you won't get a take within half an hour Simple D-Rigs with size 4 Krank hooks and double bottom 22mms worked well. I even used triple bottom baits at times to combat the poisson chat and still got bites. Only 2 fish caught on balanced Tigers. I fished most the week from in front the house, the best spots were the aerator (when it was turned on), middle of the lake and the far margin, casting slightly to the left.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Facilities inside and outside were great. Kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed. We used the BBQ almost every night. The unhooking mats, weighing tripod etc was brilliant; made weighing so much easier.

Were you happy with them?

Yes!

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Absolutely! Giles and Sharon were fantastic, friendly hosts.

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

Definitely, Angling Lines were great from start to finish.

General Comments:

Overall a superb holiday. We stopped half way on the travel down, we stayed in Orleans Friday night and arrived on the Saturday afternoon. The drive is a fair way from Calais, but the roads are clear and easy to follow.

Details of your catches:

With the weather being excessively hot up to 40 deg we thought the fishing would be difficult, this was not the case we caught 108 fish in total and each of the 3 main anglers had a forty, at times we did not have time to put are drop back indicators on before we had a run, we had several doubles and 2 x triples on the bank, the main action was during the day, so fishing at night was not required. Total catches 3 x 40s 11 x 30s 57 x 20s 37 x teens (this included 2 x koi)

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Best baits, balanced tiger nut or red spicy fish boilies over a bed of pellet/boilies and particle, fished close to the margins and in open water. End tackle 6 to 10 inch hook link, 3 oz lead to a size 2 hook worked best for us

Were the facilities what you expected?

As this was our second visit to Mas Bas we knew what to expect, the addition of the down stairs accommodation was very nice, the facilities were excellent

Hard weeks Fishing with 30 degree sunny weather everyday but managed to get 39 fish our biggest of 39lb with several other 30’s

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Plastic popped up sweetcorn with regular baiting intervals. Also got a few on the spicy and nutcracker boilies.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Better than expected, didn’t put a Bivvy up all week just fished and slept under the veranda. The ladies loved it being so close to us with us all having a very social week. A few dinners interuppted by a screaming reel which always went down with a few cheers!!

Were you happy with them?

Yes very happy

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

Already have done so, passed the details on to a few already after they saw our photos.

General Comments:

Cracking venue really is the perfect compromise between fishing and a family holiday when everyone can stay together but do there own thing.

Details of your catches:

We had 64 fish in total - x17 Doubles x31 20's x15 30's an x1 40 several grass carp

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

We fished to the margins, the right sided shallow bay behind the aerator, midwater and to the right side of the island. Fishing days only, spicy baits worked best. Size 4 hooks Long rigs Small amount and steady baiting We had around 20 poisson chat for the whole week, not a problem just make sure you wrap your baits and if you have several little beeps on a rod just make sure you redo it. We had several double takes and a few fish taking it on the drop. If the weather gets too hot be sure to look around the lake as we found them far left on one day.

Were the facilities what you expected?

The facilities were beyond expectation. Very clean and tidy, could not fault the venue or the hosts. Everything we needed was available. Plenty of shade with the large veranda, really needed when the temperature hits over 30 degrees. The pool is clean and refreshing and the outside areas a great place to sunbathe and BBQ

Were you happy with them?

More than happy with everything. We've been to France several times and have found some places lacking in cleanliness or facilities so were surprised and more than impressed with everything at Mas Bas.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

We would definitely recommend to friends and family.

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

Yes we would recommend.

General Comments:

Thanks to Gilles and Sharon for everything during our stay. We will definitely be returning.
