Details of your catches:

14 fish, best 40lbs., one 30, five 20's, 7 doubles

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Fishing baits close to structure (lilies, islands etc.). Echo sounder on baitboat showed bottom to be very flat and featurless.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Facilities were great

Were you happy with them?

Very much so, first time had been given towels at a fishng lake

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Family holiday with a bit of fishing - great. For serious carp angler - out of season like me!

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

Angling Lines are the best, why bother with the rest

General Comments:

Have had to alter my brag-sheet, the 40 made it to no. 2. Not sure if I agree with the big strong hook theory, lost four fish to hook pulls in the lilies, 'the big one' straightened a size 2 Fox 2XS, hate to think of the mouth damage that caused. In my opinion much better a smaller springy hook.

Details of your catches:

Around 10 carp - largest 42lb, 4 others over 30lb. Rest good doubles/ low twenties. All the fish were in absolutely excellent condition. Several small cats too.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Snowmen & single 20mm baits in the margins & off the lilies. We tried the centre of the lake but with no success. Start of week was very hot & the fishing was not too good but as the weather deteriorated the fishing got better. Didn't have much trouble with the Crayfish as others seemed to have? Used Giles Quest baits & some Crab & Onion boilies given to us by the other anglers on the lake.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes delighted. We stopped in Lotus last year & Lake House this year - both superb!

Were you happy with them?

Yes

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Yes - this was our second trip & I hope to return next year

Fantastic Fishing!!! 36 fish... biggest 51lb, 2 x 40's and loads of 30's. Hardly anything below 25lb.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Cast tight up to the lilies. PVA bags. Tiger Nut boilies. We only lightly baited. Only used 6kg of bait in total all week. Caught best at night to start with as it was too hot in the day (38c) butas it cooled down towards the end of the week we started to catch in the day.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes - great

Details of your catches:

9 runs - lost 5. Landed 22 commom, 20, 18,11 mirror

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Casting to showing fish with boilie & PVA bags. Crayfish are a problem at this time of year so be prepared to net (or shrink wrap) your boilies

Were the facilities what you expected?

I was in Lake House - excellent facilities

Were you happy with them?

Yes

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Yes - this is a stunning venue - I loved it

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

Yes

General Comments:

I only fished days so with more time on the rods I would have done better. This is a lovelly location.
