after an absolute mare of a 19hr journey which involved crashes jams and wheels falling off trailers we arrived in our little bit of heaven,only to be greated with hundreds of horny carp turning the water to foam. looks like we are going to struggle says I! the carp spawned solid for 3 days but catch we did. we had 239 carp for 4410lb 13oz. thats over 2 tonnes of carp. 89 x 20lb plus to 28lb 8oz(mirror)and 1 x 30lb(common) alot of the fish were spawned out and down on weight but had alot of fight in them.my best day saw me catch 20 carp for 406lb. the bouchot family were again lovely and nothing is too much trouble (even lending me a van to jump start my car on the last day). this year alice let her son (paul loius) come down to see the english and i had the pleasure of getting him to catch his first carp wich was 20lb. remarkably the family do not fish. easy fishing with huge hauls of fish a reality this is a runs water where we only fished 9 or 10 hrs a day. 2 of us caught over 1300lb each and it really wrecks your body by the 3rd day we hurt all over and we loved every second of it.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

to be honest we came to fish the method as it worked so well last year and that is what we caught all the fish on. we all used nash mutant boilies in 15mm or bigger except daz who used every bit of fake bait known to man and cught on every one. bait aplication was the key hitting the same spot time after time to build up the swim casting every 20 to 30 mins did the job. this is a hungry lake and we went through 180kg of bait mostly vitalin and pellet mixed with party blend. i very much doubt there was any bait left in the swim by morning as the first cast normally went off within minutes.

everything and more the lodge is all an angler could want.

Any bait, no real science to the fishing except they seem to come closer to the lodge bank during the night (shallower water). You can try and use 3 rods but generally one will be on the bank as hard to keep them all in the water at the same time !!!!!

General Comments:

Great lake, long way into France but when you get there you will not be dissapointed. There are so many fish, you can have a relaxing week and still catch plenty of fish. No monsters but constantly catching. Great for someone looking for a 1st time venue or family break.

General Comments:

It was a wonderful family holiday with 8 of us but just one mad angler and we had a really idilic time. Ages ranged from 5 to 63 yrs and we all enjoyed the tranquil setting. The Bouchett family made us really welcome and the swimming pool an added bonus. BBQ's in the evening went down well, lakeside with everyone and hardly any biting insects. All in the cottage except for the angler, we were supprised to have a dishwasher!! The nearby town where we went daily for bread was beautiful with a pretty church and small river running through it. We will be saving up for another trip. Highly recommended by the Shepherd family. Our son Alex arranged the holiday and travelled from Saudi you may guess he is the angler!! Thanks again.

Single hook bait topped with half a slice of fake corn and a golf ball size pva mesh bag of pellets. Don't bother spodding tried at the end to see if it would affect feeding and might have spooked fish off as catches started to drop off, not that I minded had had more than expected :)

General Comments:

Had an excellent time wanted to go on a fishing holiday with the wife where she also had something to do Vincons is the ideal place if the wife likes chilling by the pool in the sun :) The lake is a great runs lake as sold to me, no 40's but the chance of a 30 all in all great fun :) Would go again. Oh and people who run it are lovely. tried to loads pic's to this review but didn't work :(
