Yes, the walk was further away than we thought but we used the car a lot to go back and forth

Yes we were. There were loads of big spiders in the house but with orange zest and mint we managed to get them to stay away

Carp between 18lb and 33lb, 21 caught in total. Catfish between 22lb and Jen's new PB and Ladies Lake Record at 58lb 4oz. 9 in total landed, with a further 8 breaking off during the fight. PB Ghost Carp for Jen 19lb PB Grass Carp for Ted 21lb 8oz Total weight caught 835lb of fish.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

For cat's using the Atlantic boilies in the deeper water, to escape their attention we changed to the Bourbon and Pineapple boilies fished off the gorse bank, 3/4 to a couple of rod length's from bank, and to areas in the shallows around the pads and islands. Light baiting with mix of particle, pellet and 8 -12 boilies dropped from bait boat.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Having visited several times before, everything was just as expected, great well maintained, and a pleasure to visit.

Were you happy with them?

Absolutely, retreated to the floating cabin part way through one night as a spectacular thunderstorm approached, felt better than in a bivvy. And one night spent at the house needing to recover from broken sleep and a hectic day on the lake, gave both the Carp and ourselves a night's rest.

Absolutely, the venue offers everything, great facilities, excellent food package, hosts are so friendly and helpful. We will definitely be returning again.

Have already, really cannot fault anything with a number of trips under our belt, 1 already re-arranged for next year, and already venue checking for future trips.

General Comments:

Set up in very hot weather at the deep end, the cat's were brutal, so much power in the deep water, just glad the big one picked up the heavier rod and line set up, 3.5lb tc and 20lb line, although some did come to 3lb tc and 15lb line. Moved after couple of nights to the shallower peg's, the thunderstorm and cooler conditions really brought the carp to life, the common carp really are something to experience awesome fighting machines, all in really great condition. Spent a little time on Lake Lauren, great sport with carp around the 6lb mark, saw some much bigger fish crashing, around maybe next time. Great trip, which as always, ended all to soon.

From about the second day on the main lake we took about 9 large Carp and a Cat, ranging in size from 5 to 34lb. All lovely healthy fish! From the top lake we enjoyed an endless series of smaller Carp, Rudd, Bream + ?!

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

As ever, finding a good spot, baiting and waiting! Surface fishing went well with two or three good fish. Best was night time in the deep end.

The lakes were big, the area clean and tidy and extremely well maintained.

The facilities were very nice, The hosts extremely helpful, kind and welcoming. The lake grounds were like something out of a fantasy novel, they were so nice!
