Details of your catches:

Cat = 23.11 Mirror = 26.12 Mirror = 23.4 Grassy = 18.13 Mirror = 26.13 Cat = 23.4

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Either Crab or Halibut boilie to bottom. Carp not feeding so moved to deep end for cats. Bait boat great for precise baiting.

General Comments:

Excited to come 2nd year running. We returned equally for the food/hospitality, as much as the fishing. Food=Perfect. Thanks Tracy for accommodating Ken’s wishes! Genuinely sad to be reeling the rods in and leaving. Fishing was very slow - beyond anyone’s control, but still very relaxing and no doubt will come again. You are perfect hosts L+T - Your kids are also very polite and a real credit to you!! Tracy - Thanks for the wonderful welcome. We felt like family. Your food is ace as always and I appreciate the choice of having it at the lake or cottage. Lee - Thanks for all your tips, advice, encouragement and your eagle-eyes spotting rises, bubble etc. Was great swapping fishing stories waiting for the bites to come. On the couple of occasions I had passing words with Lauren and William, they come across really well and are a credit to you both. Hope to come again (next year maybe) and get a bit better luck with the fish, but we leave relaxed and well fed. Many thanks and take care, Stuart

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

We had a bait boat which was a must as all the fish were on the far bank under the gorse bushes. We used Sticky baits boilies bloodworm flavour.

General Comments:

We had a good time there, the food was very good, but the place could do with a little TLC. Also the time quoted to drive there from Calais is very optimistic allow 8hrs for the journey.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

1/2kg Halibut Pellet over 2 x 22mm Pellets top with two Active 8 Boilies to make it stand up for the Cats. Double 18mm boilie for Carp, but air dry 1kg before coming to make sure they’re hard as there is a lot of small fish for hook baits.

Were the facilities what you expected?

The facilities were brill and the Floating Cabin is perfect distance and accommodates everything you need.

Details of your catches:

15 x Fish Caught from shallow end 8 x Commons from 13.6 to 37.14 3 x Mirrors from 26.5 to 31.2 3 x Grass Carp from 14.10 to 18.6 1 Catfish at 18.6

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Best Tactics 1. Bottom Baits work well. 2. Bait Boats are a great essential asset. 3. Listen to Lee and action his advice. 4. Try different baits - Rahja Spice, Special Crab, Maize, Cell all caught fish. 5. K.D. with wafer or boilies with cork or pop-up blow back rig with any bottom bait including maize. Best Times: 07:00/11:00 - 6 Fish Caught 20:00/00:00 - 7 Fish Caught 00:00/13:00 - 1 Fish Caught 13:00/16:00 - 1 Fish Caught Best tip from Lee: I lost quite a few at the shallow end on snags, but advice from Lee ‘Be on your rods and as you strike, walk backwards at the same time,’ simple tip but increased my catch rate by over 50% and did not lose any more rigs/leaders etc (saved me a fortune).

General Comments:

Great Week - Should have booked a fortnight. Hospitality - Friendly, informative without being overbearing. Nothing was too much trouble. We had planned to cook our own food but having tried Tracy’s lasagne and cottage pie, we had all meals (evenings) provided - Highly recommended. Tracy even on request made a birthday cake for my 30 year old daughter. It was to die for - Magnificent!
