General Comments:

Great Week, lots of hard fighting fish in good condition. Lee and Tracy could not have been any more welcoming and helpful. Every lake should have a pet pig! Thanks very much.

30 carp including 15 20s and 3 30s including a 36lbs 8oz Mirror. 4 Cats up to 47lbs 7oz.

Majority of the fishing was done with boilies (Special Crab and GLM+Sausage) and Lee’s pellets. Rigs were kept simple.

General Comments:

We mostly just fished nights, from 5pm to 10 am due the days being hot and bright. Fishing picked up towards the end of the week: 6 fish in the first 24hrs and 13 in the last 24hrs. We took a bait boat with us and this proved extremely useful, especially getting rigs under the gorse where carp patrol. Being previous bait boat sceptics, I now feel that the boat does have a certain place in modern carp fishing. It is definitely worth considering taking/hiring a bait boat, even if you are boat novices like we were! All the carp are in superb condition and the cats were a new species for us, so the big cat was a bonus! All catfish came from open water spots in the deeper half of the lake. Lee's advice was excellent and the meal package was great! The food on the bank service in particular was a treat! Thanks for a great stay!

Rested the swims during the day, only fished nights (4/5pm - 10am each day). Prebaited during the day and fished the spots at night with Boilies over pellet. All fish caught on Oxford Carp Baits - Squid & Octopus Cream & BP Oil Pop Ups Quest Baits - Rahja Spice, Liver B8 & Special Crab
