Details of your catches:

Just 1 man fishing, during the day only and 30+ fish caught. A variation from grass carp, mirror, coy, common and weights from 6lb up to 41lb. Most success from Lotus lake, and quite a few of the smaller weights stalked at the far end. I mainly fished Lotus lake and pulled out too many to mention but the catch of the week was a 41 lb mirror carp, 31 lb common carp, 2 beautiful koi carp, and a lot in the high 20 lb mark.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

The best tactics were to listen to giles!! The most successful bait was Quest rhaja spice by far.

General Comments:

Gilles and leslie are fantastic hosts and made us feel so welcome straight away. Mas bas is just undescribable as the words and photos just don't do it justice - it is a must see location to appreciate the vast space and tranquil atmosphere. We drove down from calais and stopped off at a b&b, le moulin, recommended by angling lines and the split journey made it a great adventure. My girlfriend doesn't fish but she was as overwhelmed with mas bas as i was - she was more than happy reading and lapping up the sun which was glorious. We didn't really know what to expect as out first 'fishing holiday' but boy its set the standard high! A return visit is a definite and will look to book one of the larger houses and bring the family. Lotus cottage was perfect for the 2 of us and everything you need. The information pack that leslie gave us on shops, restaurants etc was brilliant and were grateful we had it. Thank you bridget for recommeding, and gilles and leslie for being so wonderful - see you very soon!
