Details of your catches:

It took a day to sort spots out, but roughly knew them from last visit in 2018 and basically fish from the off! Must have been an introduction of grass carp since we fished in 2018 which although kept numbers up and fought hard but became a pain in the end. Fish caught: total 75 13 commons biggest 33lb 38 mirrors with numerous 20s and 30s, 2 x 40s biggest 44lb 2 koi biggest 16lb 25 grass carp biggest 27lb

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Fishing tight to far margins using nylon hook links and Ronnie rigs. Right hand side more favourable in afternoon at distance as fish moved into the shallows. Left hand side good under overhang of large tree. Good opportunities for stalking both ends in main swims slow up or resting. Snowman rigs with wrapped 20mm bottom bait with plastic topper to reduce crayfish activity and catfish. Tried tiger nuts with plastic toppers which did catch but slow. Changed back to only boilies which was more prolific.

Were the facilities what you expected?

The facilities could do with some tlc and not really been updated since last visit 5 years ago, ie: kitchen units and doors, no locks on bathrooms doors binding on floors etc. No trade during Covid probably restrained this understandably. However a great improvement to the main swim bank has been done since last time which should be commended! The pool lovely and nice to jump in to cool off during the heat of the day.

Were you happy with them?

Generally yes we were happy with our stay. Our hosts Gilles and Sharon, as usual we’re very helpful. Confusion over electric car charging but I think this has been clarified in terms now.

General Comments:

Need a holiday to get over this!! Lots of fish action and could of had lots more but can be hard work fishing over 100 yards especially when the rods go off in your hand as you drop the bait! If you are after non stop action with a good chance of a 40lb this is your place!

Details of your catches:

I had 85 fish for the week fishing days only. 46 mirror carp (biggest 49.8lb) 3 Common carp (biggest 32lb) 36 Grass carp (biggest 31lb) Consisted of 5 x 40's 15 x 30's 65 X 20's

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Bait boat to far margin, Scopex Squid and Sticky Krill boilie and lots of particle. 20mm Wafters or pop ups. Often had a take before I could get the boat back. Only 5 poisson chat for the week, did not cause an issue for me.

Were the facilities what you expected?

We have had multiple visits to Mas Bas, always great and ready for our arrival. New outside furniture is a nice upgrade.

Details of your catches:

We only fished days as we had so many bites didn’t need to fish nights aswell. We basically had over 100 fish between the 3 of us in only 5 days fishing ranging from smallest which was 21lb all the way up to 50lb. PBs were beaten a lot on this trip and we all had an amazing time.
