Bivvy Power Lights the Way!, 2nd Jun
Power Pack and Lighting system sets available for hire here
Complete set includes:
Power Pack, Charger, Internal Light and External Light with Remote Control
15 euros per set per week
The 'Remote Lighting System' not only allows you to illuminate your bivvy, but the area outside it too! - And all from a remote control fob which you can attach to a necklace and wear to bed! So, in that moment of urgency, when you are awoken in the dark by a screaming run, you can illuminate the situation immediately and see exactly what you are doing. The interior lighting is so good you could even tie rigs in your bivvy in the middle of the night without a struggle!
The power pack is small and is incredibly long lasting; it will power a portable DVD player for up to 10 hours of film play or run your lighting for over 50 hours of continuous use, not to mention you can use it to charge your phone, PSP, MP3 players etc. in fact anything you can run in your car on the 12 volt car socket, you can run on 'Bivvy Power'.
The system is seriously impressive! So easy to set up, robust and weather proof, once you've tried it, this is one product that you won't want to be bankside without!

43 Fish on the bank for the Brown Party!!!, 19th May
As the year starts to warm up, April would normally see high numbers of heavy fish on the bank, but this year the weather man had other ideas. With constant rain for five solid weeks, lake temperatures have hovered around a paltry 6-7 degrees; slowing down fish movement and consequently feeding, until now…
The sun emerged Saturday morning as three generations of Brown arrived, and as if by magic, the lake came alive! Switching on with a vengeance, the lake kicked out massive haul of just shy of 1000lb totalling 43 banked fish, not to mention the 10 that got away!
All four anglers broke their ‘Personal Bests’ this week; Steve’s son Scott and son-in-law Neil saw most of the action in the shallows with a good mix of Commons and Mirrors to 36lb 1oz, and Steve hooked into several fish from the mid depths including a smashing 35lb Common whilst his dad George, who only fished the deep during the days, managed to bag himself a PB Common of 23lb.
As almost all catches were made during the day, I was fortunate enough to be there to see Steve hook a Cat, and then again to see Scott put a 47lb brace on the bank one afternoon.
Superb fishing lads, Well done!

Bob Smashes Brace Lake Record!!!, 19th Oct
Originally a Yorkshire man, Bob Gillott now resides in Preston, Lancashire with his lovely young wife Janet. Here for the week, Bob has been fishing only two rods from the Dam Wall and at 3.20 pm on Tuesday the 18th got a run from the sunken streambed in the middle of the lake, resulting in a cracking 33lb 12oz Mirror.
Whilst dealing with this one on the bank, Bob had a run on his other rod which was planted along the Gorse bank; this time a 30lb 4oz Common had picked up Bob’s home-made Trigga Ice boilie.
A superb result!! The two fish weights combined comes to spot on 64lb which smashes the ‘Men’s Lake Record Brace’ by just over 13lb.
Bob has had a total of 19 Carp so far including four at over 30lb and only two under 20lb, and he didn’t even fish two of the nights he has been here!
Great fishing Bob, keep em coming!!

Glamorous Granny Goes Gaga at La Gléhias!!!!, 6th Oct
Fran “The Fish” Johnston, here for the week with her husband Barry from Fulham (the current holder of the Lake ‘OAP’ Record Mirror), has managed to bag not one…..not two….but three bottles of La Gléhias wine!!!!
Having broken not only her PB twice in an hour, she also managed to break the standing ‘Ladies Lake Record Common’ record twice! Previously held by Wendy Calthorpe at 13lb10oz, Fran smashed that first by 5lbs, and then 5mins later smashed her own new record by a further 5lbs!!
Not only that, but the two ‘Common Beauties’ also gleaned the glamorous Grandma of fifteen the ‘Women’s Lake Record Brace’ at 41lb 8oz!!!
Incredibly, whilst dealing with the brace, Fran’s float rod tore off, but with a jump and a splash, the lump got away with hook, line and sinker!!
Never mind Fran, still good going by anyone’s standards!!!
Well done Fran!!
