Details of your catches:

11 fish hooked, 9 landed biggest 23lb common 2 mirrors 2 commons 5 grass carp We were the last booking of this year, 28 fish caught the week before and it was very quiet with fish holding up in the snags. Despite not catching much really enjoyed the venue and fishing, shame they weren't feeding. The lake would perhaps benefit from the removal of some of the grass carp as 60% of my overall catch were grass carp. A fair indication of the stock and average size (low doubles)

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Had to shrink wrap baits to avoid the Poissons, tried an alternative bait to Rhaja spice to see if I could get them to drop their guard after a summer of being fished for. It didnt produce, switched to Rhaja spice on the 5th day- made no difference. Fished 24/7 in all the spot Gilles recommended, but will little to show for it. Reading the catch reports in date order seems every other week was a good hit of fish with an off week in between, we got the off week. Started carefully with single hookbaits and small patches of bait for the first 48 hours, then built the swim little often with boilies and pellet. Stalked a few fish from the snags otherwise the results would have been worse. It also rained heavy the week before which may have impacted the fishing. It was very strange as the main lake was fishing really well.

Were the facilities what you expected?

The location was lovely, very quiet, relaxing and picturesque. The pool and lawn area was great outdoor space for playing with my son (5). The cottage was rustic/traditional and clean. Facilities wifi, tv, washing machine made for a comfortable stay. A couple of table cloths would have been useful to cover the tables for meal time and some large plastic tumblers/plates etc.. handy to avoid taking glass outside. Bedding was crisp clean white and fresh.

Were you happy with them?

Yes overall happy with the facilties

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Yes for the friendly reception, open spaces and scenery. When the lake is fishing well it would be a great teaching venue for new or young anglers. Great for a combined family holiday. If your after higher average size fish book the main lake.

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

Yes the holiday booking process and information made for seamless and hassle free journey. Details of the venue and rules etc were accurate and Gilles and and Sharon are very friendly

General Comments:

Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed a relaxing holiday in beautiful surroundings. Looking forward to booking again on the main lake, which we were shown round before leaving. The lake is private despite sharing a bank with the main lake and willow cottage. Take some citronella candles, as you would expect in summer near water there were quite a few wasps and insects in the evening (especially if the outdoor lights were on). To be expected but the candles helped. The patio area would have benefitted from the whole area (right of the BBQ) being slabbed to finish off the area.

Details of your catches:

8 Carp (inc koi and Grass) of between 12-27lbs in size

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Raj Spice 20mm boilies and pellet. Fish were found at far end of lake so long (110/120+ yard cast ) needed or bait boat to hit the good spots. Weather was hot when we were there so maybe accounted for low catch count, fish were caught normally before 9:30 in the morning, though had rods out all day and late into the evening but not much joy.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Rustic Cottage with comfortable accommodation, great swimming pool, and Wifi and Dishwasher nice extras you don't always get elsewhere. Outside eating area lovely next to the Lake.

Were you happy with them?

Yes.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Not a great week for catching, so difficult to say I'd recomend it

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

Yes

General Comments:

Good accommodation and family friendly holiday. Found the Fishing challenging. Accessible Swims at the end of the lake would have been beneficial. Poisson chat and crayfish were present in water and we caught quite a few so maybe an issue.

Details of your catches:

Fishing days only, just myself. 6 x 20's 5 mirrors and 1 common 19 x doubles mostly mirrors and some commons 7 x Grass carp 11-17lb 1 x Golden Koi 4 x Tench all about 4lb 4 x small catfish 3 x poisson chat

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

All caught on snowman rigs, 20mm Rahja spice bottom bait and 15mm pop up. 10" hook links, size 4 micro barb hooks. Bait boat under the willow and left to the aerator. Supplied small pellet this year, caught less grass carp, more mirrors, but did have a challenge with the small cats and I am sure crayfish, hey, that's fishing. Will give the pellets a miss next year and use hardened hook baits and only feed boilies..

Were the facilities what you expected?

All the facilities were great, made some small improvements and little touches which are nice to see. This was our 2nd visit and it is a fantastic place.

Were you happy with them?

Absolutely, dad gets his fishing lake, my bikini clad assistant had great weather and the kids have freedom. We sit and have food together around the table under the pergola breakfast, lunch and dinner. We would sit and play cards on the bank and have a quiet drink and chill. Marvellous.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Yes, I have done and would l highly recommend Mas Bas for families, yes its a long drive, but its worth it.

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

Angling Lines delivered exactly what I wanted, we have already booked for next year.

General Comments:

Keep it simple, give them some bait, regularly and don't be shy, they aren't when there hungry. Counting down the days to next year, my little bit of heaven.
