Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

20mm Rahja spice feeding boillies over the top worked well at start of the week. It got hotter as the week went on (36 last three days) pellets and chopped boillies seemed to work better. Bites from all over lake. Stalking either end in the middle of the day was good fun.

The house was lovely, spacious and just what you need, all the mod cons too!

General Comments:

The venue was fantastic, beautiful setting, great weather and excellent fishing. Plenty of features to keep the fishing interesting, take note of Gilles advice, he knows his lake! We choose to fly and take advantage of full tackle hire for the week and this did not disappoint. Rods and reels very good quality. I've been to other lakes in France and this one is one of the best. The house was perfect for us, very comfortable and amazing views. The outside area is great with seating and BBQ area and of course the pool which was a big hit with our 4 year old son! Our parents joined us for the first time this year and loved the venue. Thank you to Gillies and Sharon for a fantastic week!

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Rahja Spice and Maize. The more bait I put in the faster a run came but this did attract the Grass Carp to begin with. The maize produced frantic sport but again did attract the grass carp if you loose fed. Gilles explained this is what would happen and he was spot on. Feeding lightly did produce better carp but you had to wait slightly longer for a bite.

General Comments:

A really great holiday. Gilles and Sharon are lovely hosts and very accommodating. I have already put a availability request in for next year. The fishing is excellent. I only fished a few hours a day, winding in at 11pm every night. The stalking opportunities at this place are excellent but you can equally catch plenty sitting behind the rods from the house. Most days we went exploring the local medieval towns and castles which were great. The food was excellent too apart from the Gizzards! Five star carping - Ill be back for sure!

1350lb of Carp only fishing days. 2 x 40lb, 9 x 30lb, 27 x 20lb, 15 doubles.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Korda IQ 10 inch, Korda Krank size 4 and 6. Simple knotless knot Raja Spice 20 mm boilie over trout pellet areas at house ( Bait up twice a day) Top up boilie regular. Light leads 1 1/2 oz at bottom end with small spread of boilie.

The facilities are great. Everything you could want for your stay. The photo's don't do the house justice. Giles and Sharon are great and so easy going plus are happy to help at all times. Made for a even better stay.

Already have and friends are already asking when i am going back. Next year hopefully it really has it all for the angler and family.

The whole trip has been great, so easy to organise.

General Comments:

Try the fly drive it make life so easy. Flew to Bergerac, car hire (Buggs) right outside the arrivals. Use the new supermarket in town 10 mins from venue plus the bakers and butchers. Giles supplies top quality tackle and all i had to take was my end tackle. Listen to his advice but also use the whole lake caught 75% from the bottom end. Don't worry about the shallow water and silt the fish are there! Rest areas at times it pays off, avoid the particle for the Grass carp and silver fish. Don't just plot up at the house, i spent the mornings down the far end fishing from the platform down and back at the house afternoon and evenings for social with my girlfriend. Thank you so much guys for a great holiday. Be prepared for arm aching action it really is a quality lake. Be prepared for multiple runs at times, i dropped to two rods as it was getting mad.

Frank and Graham caught 57 Carp (24 and 33). Frank had 2 forties/9 thirties with a PB common at 39 8. Graham had 2 forties/ 4 thirties with a PB mirror at 46 12. Caught fish from all locations on lake so listen to Gilles about hotspots and tactics

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Used 8 to 10 inch fluorocarbon KD rigs with size 6 and 4 barbless hooks. Single Quest baits Raja Spice 20mm boilies worked best. Fished mostly from mid day to 1am. Didn't fish every day and didn't fish all night.

The facilities are excellent and have been upgraded with additional bedrooms downstairs and touches all over the house. The Fishing tackle has been upgraded to latest Daiwa Infinity BR reels and Latest Fox Rods with Nash alarms.....you will not be disappointed

Were you happy with them?

Absolutely over the moon. Great facilities, great Fishing, great owner / hosts who couldn't do enough to service our requirements. We had a 5 mth baby and Sharon's team of Holly, Georgia, Harry and Gilles / Phillipe had set everything up for a brilliant holiday

Magical Mas Bas as we've named it due to the peace, tranquility, facilities, great fishing, excellent locale for history buffs, great food and restaurants close by. Yes yes yes we've recommended to family and friends and work colleagues. Read Tims write up and watch the Videos. There's nothing to touch Mad Bas if your looking for a family fishing holiday . From Gatwick to site in just over 3 hours....Go Fly drive it's easier and the hire tackle is top end where it matters IE reels rods alarms.......were back in Sept and have booked next year

Yes absolutely have and Sharon/Gilles are very professional, client focussed, who went out of their way to meet all of our requests. We had a 26 th birthday party and even baked birthday cakes. Mas Bas is a tranquil retreat with proximity to local towns and historical sites and ire family attractions. Can't thank them enough ....other than repeat bookings in Sept this year and July next year for my 60th

General Comments:

Magical Mas Bas has it all, excellent family accommodation, great facilities with 2 pools, great fishing with many 30s and forties plus a few Fifties to challenge you, great local historical sites, great local food options, and above all excellent owner/ hosts who go out of their way to make your family holiday brilliant but they're not intrusive with it.
