Fantastic week, I had 39 carp, including 42lb, 43lb and a pb of 45.5lb. My mate John who had never fished before had a 42lb!! What a start to carp fishing. My son had over 20 carp and beat his PB with a 43lb as well. Early morning seems best time to fish.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Just fish with a few boilies, tried alsorts but worked best.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Wonderful place, so quiet. I woke up each morning and from my bed looked onto the lake with mist rolling off, what more can you ask. Could have caught more than 39 if did night fishing.

Were you happy with them?

Very helpful and always made sure we had what we wanted but also did just leave us to fish.

Yes, great for family as well as fishing.

Cannot fault services.

Details of your catches:

I fished between 10 am and 8 pm on four days, only caught 3 doubles, 6 twenties, 1 31lb mirror 1 36lb mirror and 1 42lb mirror. Also loads of grass carp.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

I fished the far margin by the red trees. We baited heavily with particles. I found it difficult to fish with three rods as the action was instant and most of the time only fished with one rod.

Were the facilities what you expected?

This was our second visit to Mas Bas and found the facilities as good as we expected.

Everything worked, but use to much pellet and attract the dreaded grass carp

General Comments:

Nice lake, nice location, the fish are getting damaged with the mouths been ripped etc, but overall very happy, I think if you take out the small carp and put a few more big fish you would benefit, also I think the poison chats will be a big problem in years to come We started to re-catch a few fish over the 2weeks

For me a total of 40 Carp landed, 14 X 20lb+, 9 X 30lb+, 3 X 40lb+, the largest being a new PB at 45lb 6oz, For my 12 year old daughter!!!! 19 Carp landed with her new PB of 30lb 8oz

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Really only fished during the day as you would get no sleep if you did nights!!! The carp here are big, fit and stronger than anything I have come across before, by no means a runs water but keep the boilies drip feeding in on some hot spots that are obvious and you will catch. only used 15kg for 2 fishing for the whole week. Simple rigs, 3.5oz distance weights, 8" hair rig with size 6 micro barbed wide gape hooks, single boilie(CC Moore Equinox)with maybe 15 freebies scattered over a 10 yard area and you wont be waiting long for the bites!!

Were the facilities what you expected?

Absolutely perfect, house is perfect for families and the pool was brilliant for the kids and the BBQ was ideal, the main swim being right in front of the house, will be booking up for next year for sure.

A resounding yes, couldn't ask for more!!
