Details of your catches:

i had 53 carp, 3 x 40, 4 x 30, 17 x 20, the other two had about 60 carp to 32lb.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

large baits, 2 x 20mm boilies, or 20mm & 15mm pop up. spread of bait with throwing stick, boilies only. NO PARTICALS!!!! if you use a bait boat the grass carp will have the bait straight away.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Very good, the whole family loved the place.

Were you happy with them?

Accommodation was the best, what a place!!!

Details of your catches:

There was roughly around 80 fish caught altogether .. All diffrent kinds . Biggest carp were 42lb & 41lb which we was very please with as it was our first time fishing in france and we had hoped for 40lb.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Zig fishing was the best ! Foam baits were the best .

Were the facilities what you expected?

The facilities were great . Although we went 3 days because we couldnt find knifes and faulkes , the draw was very hidden :/ Also outside our back door there was a really horrible smell . Asthough there was something dead in the bushes . We did look and there was indeed a bucket full of dead bate ! Other than them 2 things it was great.

Were you happy with them?

The owners were brilliant . Helped us out when we needed it . They are very friendly . Also is the cleaner . The pool was great Deffinatley a place for all the family to go .

Yes i would recommend to a friend . If i was ever to go again i would want to go in the main house as it is gorgeous !

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

Probebly would recommend to a friend yes ,i rang angling times a number of times whilst in france when lost and was helped out the best they could . was much appreciated ! But i would advise anybody driving to mas bas to take a tomtom that works in EU ! We got lost and it sent us off track about 3 hours !

General Comments:

Loved mas bas all in all , apart from 1 or 2 faults. I would love to go back again. In the main house , But i would deffinatly fly next time . Made friends with people from the main house too.

Details of your catches:

We had a total of 72 Carp over two weeks (Mirror, Common & Koi) including 3 x 40's, 42.6, 42.2 & 42.1 - 6 x 30's 34.7, 34.1, 32.14, 32.2 30.3 & 30.1 - 28 x 20's and 35 to just under 20 including 3 beautiful Koi Carp! We also had 26 Grass Carp, 3 Tench & 1 Black Bass!

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

We found single 20mm bottom baits fished on size 6 long shank x hooks on 10 to 12 inch n- trap soft coated hook links fished with in line 3oz leads. We found it best to use a small scattering of 20mm boilies baiting with about 10 to 12 baits for each fish casting to a different area's when the runs slowed up. We also used back leads & flying back leads to keep things pinned down & to help avoid too many tangles when a fish was hooked. We found the far margin (to the left from the house ) by the green & red tree a good area - and between the jetty & aerator but also caught close in when these areas went quiet. Also caught two float fishing - a Koi in the shallows and a long common hooked about a foot out by the green tree we had been fishing across to. We only fished during the day and although I got up earlier than the rest of the family most of the action was from about 10am till 5pm - with runs often at the hottest time of the day! Great fun!

Were the facilities what you expected?

The facilities were fantastic! A great house with loads of space although we spent all our time outside as the terrace and view of the lake are just amazing. The pool was great and right next to the lake. There is a level lawn from the terrace to the lake edge where we set up a badminton net. There is also a great bar-be-que which we cooked 90% of our meals on. It really was perfect for a family holiday with some great fishing!

General Comments:

I have been to France fishing for a number of years and have always been a bit wary about trying to combine a family holiday with fishing but the whole family enjoyed every minute at Mas Bas so much that we only went out once in 14 days! All the family caught some great carp with my son William landing a 42! Tom had a superb 30 Common & my wife Paula had a 32lb on her birthday. Our daughter joined us for the 2nd week and caught carp to 27lb and a beautiful Koi. Many thanks to Leslie & Gilles who were very welcoming, and to Angling Lines especially to Bridget for all the information before we went and to Julie who rearranged our return ferry crossing at short notice.
