Details of your catches:
53 carp. Mirrors to 32:02 and commons to 30:10. In addition we caught many grass carp (35+ from 6lbs to 18lbs)as well as tench (4lbs), bream (3lbs) and sturgeon (9lbs+)
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Large boilies (22mm) only for the carp but avoid any particle or pellet unless you want to be plagued by the nuisance species

General Comments:
Really nice venue for the family but still some decent sized carp for the serious angler. We fished in a very relaxed fashion and mostly at night as we let the kids have their fun during the day. Loads of action and certainly not a difficult water - you can catch on a variety of methods as we did.

Details of your catches:
Caught lots of carp roughly 30 in total over the spawning period. biggest being 45lb.
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Use larger bait such as 22mm raja spice boilies to avoid the grass carp which although can become a nuisance are essential for keeping the weed levels down. Also aids in catching the larger fish.
Were the facilities what you expected?
Fascilities were excellent not problems at all.

Details of your catches:
25 Carp (up to 32lb), 68 Grass Carp (up to 22lb), 8 Tench (up to 6lb 15oz), 10 Sturgeon (believe the same 2 fish caught multiple times), 5 Koi, 32 Bream, 4 Eels, 1 Black Bass, multiple silver fish to float tactics.
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Found most of the Carp to be close to the margins on the far bank from the house and the sturgeon in the deep channel directly in front of house. Do not neglect the prospects of stalking fish in the shallows and snags. The Grass Carp are very hungry and not fussy about rig presentation or bait for that matter so couldn't really say with any clarity what the best tactic would be! I know that Gilles recommends 20mm boilies as hookbait and a scattering of 20mm boilies.
Were the facilities what you expected?
Yes, been before and as accomodation factors into our holiday booking we wouldn't have returned (twice!) if it wasn't up to scratch. Had a bit of confusion with the TV and which channels it does/doesn't receive but didn't affect the holiday greatly (we would have liked to watch Match of the Day on BBC1 but not on Astra box....).
Were you happy with them?
Yes, as I say been before and the house is clean, right next to the lake with a superb tiled outdoor sundeck with swimming pool making excellent socaible set up for a family venue.
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Yes, we brought one along! Would definitely include a warning at the moment about the proliferation of Grass Carp but think everyone already on top of this...

General Comments:
Idyllic place ideally set up for the family fishing holiday. Gilles - the Grass Carp have done their job now so get them in a stock pond and Lesley - get an up to date freeview TV box like Vaux, Notaires & Toms and we'll see you again soon. Thanks for everything, Paul.

Details of your catches:
In total 65 fish, 625 kg (on average 2 anglers): - 6 grass carp, between 6 and 17 lbs - 15 common carp, between 11 and 32 lbs - 41 mirror carp, between 14 and 46 lbs - 3 sturgeon, between 8 and 11 lbs Top 5 catches: - 46.3 lbs mirror - 45.3 lbs mirror - 35.3 lbs mirror - 32.0 lbs common - 30.9 lbs common
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
- large hooks - 30-35 cm long rigs - single 20mm boilies - no groundbait like pellets, maize etc.! - short distance between hook and boilie (0.5 cm) - rahja spice, squid & octopus or fish garlic boilies
Were the facilities what you expected?
Yes, these were ok. Very comfortable that the lake is so close to the house!!
Were you happy with them?
Yes, the only issue for me was that upstairs the ceiling was rather low (I am 6 foot 8 tall), which resulted in many bumps on my head....:-)
