Details of your catches:
Incredible weeks fishing again at Mas Bas, I had 151 fish for the week fishing days only. Biggest 37lb. Fished boilies and pellet all week. Catch included 3 koi. No issue with poisson chat at all.
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Bait boat to far margin, couldn’t get the boat back with out the rod ripping off. 90% of fish on this one rod, 20mm hookbaits.
Were the facilities what you expected?
Great as always, first time in October, nice having the fire going.

Details of your catches:
Out of 65 fish caught, we had 29 double figure carp (10-19lbs), 24x 20lb+ carp & 5x 30lb+ carp, the biggest being 36.5lb! 8x Grass Carp (biggest being 24lb) and 4x Koi carp (biggest being 18lb) the Koi was a dream to catch purely due to how beautiful they were.
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Casting to the margins and fishing at the bottom of the lake were very productive. 2 of the 30lb+ carp came from the middle of the lake so, after asking for the best spots, Gilles’ response was “in the lake”, which couldn’t be more accurate. We had 25kg of pellet which work very well to get the fish feeding. That and a good spread of boillies. Fishing a snowman with a yellow 12mm pop up on a 18mm “The Krill” tuff ones hookbait were the tactics which paid off well. We fish mainly pink pop ups at home but they didn’t work as well.
Were the facilities what you expected?
Everything was provided, we were always asked if there was anything else we needed but there never was.
Were you happy with them?
Yes, bed was lovely and comfortable, kitchen great to cook in and seating area outside was really comfortable.
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Absolutely, this was a dream destination for us and I am sure this would be the case for most anglers.
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
Yes, all information was provided and we were kept throughly up to date with all the COVID changes. We were initially renting a car which we put as our vehicle, but changed our mind and there was no issues changing our option to a van.
General Comments:
Gilles and Sharon were lovely, we arrived later than expected so everything was made ready for us for our arrival. They came over the next day to see how our journey was and if we needed anything. Really lovely couple who made us feel welcome. Prior to us booking, we read lots of reviews and many said that the poisson chat was an issue however we didn’t have that experience. Over 6 days we only had 2 and that was due to not putting the shrink wrap onto our bait. If you have the shrink wrap then you won’t have a problem.

Details of your catches:
Fishing could not have been better with over 110 fish caught with only 2 fishing days only. Mainly mid 20s and 5 30s, fish little down on weight but given 2 years of little anglers it’s no surprise. Stunning lake couldn’t ask for more!
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Simple rigs but stiff ish booms to keep presented in case of chat but we had no problems with them. We went through over 75kilos and the fish really reacted to the bait. No bite for an hour 5 spombs and the rod was away while bait going in. Tiger nut topped with corn maize was the main winner but my dad was catching just as much with boilie. Far bank did very well but I love open water with 2 rods on a spot about 18 wraps bait going in after every fish and topping up really kept them grubbing!
Were the facilities what you expected?
Yes our second visit to Mas Bas and it won’t be our last. The weather was abit damp first day or 2 then we had high 20s the rest of the week which is amazing for the end of September. Stunning house with a beautiful pool and amazing fishing! Really what more could you ask for. The drive down is a fairly long run but it is so worth it!
Were you happy with them?
Yes everything you could need is there and more. It was September so we had an open fire which just topped it all off beautiful sunny days and fire lit evening, just perfect!!!
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Absolutely and already have! Gilles and Sharon will help you with anything you need and you could not ask for better people to look after you on holiday.
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
Yes angling lines had been great sorting out COVID situations and was willing to move our holiday if need be.
