Overview

For the many anglers who have been disappointed by not being able to book a week on fish farmer Michel Bigot’s venues in the past, Michel has created the ideal solution. His brand new Lords Lake is the perfect partner to his extremely popular Commons Lake, just a few hundred yards away.

Anyone who has fished a Bigot venue will have come to expect big French carp and lots of them and Lords is certainly no exception having received multiple stockings of quality large carp.

Here are a couple of feedback quotes from 2012;

Angling lines have done it again!  What a great weeks fishing!  All 3 anglers caught brilliant fish and all had Pb’s. Vic's first time carp fishing and he lands a 49lb mirror!  Champagne and a soaking was highlight of the day!  Owner was very helpful & always on hand.

The Carp Lake

Lords unique feature is the large half-moon swim, some 20m plus in length, which juts out into the lake right in front of the mobile home.

This means that 3 anglers (4 at a push) can comfortably set up next to each other and each have at least a corner and two margins to fish to. No need to reel in for food and socialising and total command of every part of the lake.

The Carp

Anyone who has fished a Michel Bigot venue will have come to expect big French carp and lots of them and Lords is certainly no different in terms of fish numbers and quality. 

In January 2010 the stocking programme began with 98 carp over 20lb stocked, 15 of which were 30lb+. On the 12th of March another 15 carp were added including 5 mirrors weighing between 35lb and 40lb plus 2 commons weighing 40lb and 41lb. Since then catfish have also been added to 65lb.

In January 2011 Michel Bigot undertook a complete stock check of every carp in Lords... & it’s no surprise there was no shortage of them! They netted the lake, weighed, recorded and returned every fish. You can read the complete stock list in the January Latest News but in summary the stock check revealed 4 x 40’s, 38 x 30’s, 41 x 20’s and 14 x cats to 70lb+

The Facilities

The mobile home on the lake is brand new and offers a unique design with all the usual facilities such as shower, toilet, battery charging etc.

The only sleeping facilities is one bedroom with a double bed. There is a hob, microwave and grill (but not a full oven) pots, pans, cutlery, plates and cups. There is no TV.

There is a fridge but no separate bait freezer, but anglers can use the large bait freezers at the fish farm a few hundred yards up the road from the lake.

The tap water is from a well, but perfectly safe to drink if you boil it first.

Michel Bigot has arranged with the local baker to visit Lords every morning, except Wednesday, with fresh bread, cakes, croissant etc.  Anglers will also be able to order Pizzas for collection in the evening at the bakery.

Visit this lake 2 (or more) times in the same calendar year & get a 10% discount on the return visits!

We have lots of customers who make more than one trip with us and we want to reward that loyalty. Certain venues have agreed to participate in a discount scheme for return trips. This lake is one of those taking part… so book a return trip and get your 10% discount!

Conditions:

• Applies to fishing only & excludes accommodation (if normally booked separately), food, bait etc.
• Applies to ferry crossing for vehicle only (excludes trailers, cabins etc)
• Members of a group booking who have not visited twice will not be eligible for the discount
• This offer is only valid for return trips taken in the same calendar year and cannot be taken in conjunction with any other offer or special discount applied to this lake
