Overview
For the many anglers who have been disappointed by not being able to book a week on fish farmer Michel Bigot’s venues in the past, Michel has created the ideal solution. His brand new Lords Lake is the perfect partner to his extremely popular Commons Lake, just a few hundred yards away.
Anyone who has fished a Bigot venue will have come to expect big French carp and lots of them and Lords is certainly no exception having received multiple stockings of quality large carp. It was therefore no surprise to us when excellent catch reports started rolling in during 2011.
For example John Sleight and his mate fished Lords in May 2011 taking 91 carp in total... & they didn't even fish the last night! Their catch included 3 x 40's, 32 x 30's, 46 x 20's and 3 catfish. One of the 40's was 49lb 6oz... a new lake record and PB for Jon.
But this was not a one-off. In April Dale & Brandon Harston and Carl Marriott had 83 carp, biggest was 40lb plus 29 x 30`s, 28 x 20`s and 6 catfish up to 61lb. Here’s what they had to say;

Certainly the first couple of years on any new venue usually produce high catches until the carp begin to wise up... so get on Lords fast!
The Carp Lake
Lords unique feature is the large half-moon swim, some 20m plus in length, which juts out into the lake right in front of the mobile home.
This means that 3 anglers (4 at a push) can comfortably set up next to each other and each have at least a corner and two margins to fish to. No need to reel in for food and socialising and total command of every part of the lake.

Anyone who has fished a Michel Bigot venue will have come to expect big French carp and lots of them and Lords is certainly no different in terms of fish numbers and quality.
In January 2010 the stocking programme began with 98 carp over 20lb stocked, 15 of which were 30lb+. On the 12th of March another 15 carp were added including 5 mirrors weighing between 35lb and 40lb plus 2 commons weighing 40lb and 41lb. Since then catfish have also been added to 65lb.
In January 2011 Michel Bigot undertook a complete stock check of every carp in Lords... & it’s no surprise there was no shortage of them! They netted the lake, weighed, recorded and returned every fish. You can read the complete stock list in the January Latest News but in summary the stock check revealed 4 x 40’s, 38 x 30’s, 41 x 20’s and 14 x cats to 70lb+

The mobile home on the lake is brand new and offers a unique design with all the usual facilities such as shower, toilet, battery charging etc.
The only sleeping facilities is one bedroom with a double bed. There is a hob, microwave and grill (but not a full oven) pots, pans, cutlery, plates and cups. There is no TV.
There is a fridge but no separate bait freezer, but anglers can use the large bait freezers at the fish farm a few hundred yards up the road from the lake.
The tap water is from a well, but perfectly safe to drink if you boil it first.

Carp Bait
This venue stocks Quest Baits. To order bait please contact the owner direct. The owners Email address & phone number can be found on the directions sheet which will be sent to you when your holiday has been paid for in full. Please order at least 4 weeks in advance. You pay the owner in Euros when you arrive. Please note; the Euro to £ sterling exchange rate does fluctuate throughout the year.

Please note; The lake only stocks the above Quest products. If you require any other Quest products that are not on the list please call Quest direct on 08448 000345. Any goods ordered from Quest direct will be sent to you in the UK. They cannot be sent over to the lake in France.

Please note; Bait orders are made directly between you and the lake owner and/or Quest Baits. We (Angling Lines) cannot be held responsible for any problems that may subsequently arise. If you order bait to be waiting for you when you arrive we strongly recommend you telephone or Email a few days before your arrival to make sure it will be there for you. In 99% of cases this will just be purely precautionary, but bait is such an important part of your holiday that it’s only sensible to take every step to avoid problems.
