Overview
Emeraude is a 15-acre gravel pit in North West France, offering some of the best big carp fishing in France, with a lake record of over 72lb. The lake is packed with features, big variations in depth, and wild overhanging margins - a highly rewarding and exciting water for experienced anglers chasing a personal best.
Whilst the lake retains a very natural feel, the layout is excellent and allows space for each angler. Bait boats are welcome and a rowing boat is supplied on every swim free of charge, making it easier to find precise spots amongst weed or overhanging margins. With a head of around 350 carp, the fish gallery speaks for itself and this is a good choice if you're looking for the chance of a trophy 70lb+ carp.
Emeraude has over 30 excellent reviews already and has built a strong reputation with anglers regularly praising the lake's natural, wild character and the knowledge and helpfulness of bailiff Clement.
This lake can be booked individually or exclusively for your group (up to 10 anglers). For individual bookings swims are prebooked in advance. There are four double swims, but it is also possible to book swim 4 as a single angler if required. Exclusive bookings also include a fifth double swim for groups of 9–10 anglers. However, if booking the lake exclusively we recommend a maximum of 8 anglers to allow more space and flexibility to move between swims.
The venue is very close to the ports of St Malo (1hr 15) and Caen (2hr 40), making it an easy destination for those taking the Friday overnight crossing and arriving refreshed on the Saturday with only a short drive. From Calais, it's a 6-hour drive.
Please note that for the 2028 season, an accommodation cabin is planned to be installed at swim 3. This has been reflected in the 2028 pricing. Further details will be confirmed once plans are finalised.

Andy Burrows
"Stunning venue. Roomy pegs with well set boundary markers give everyone plenty of water to fish to. Each peg has its own features. Big fish and a great stock of carp. Loved our time there and already thinking about how we'll tackle this venue when we return."
Michael Sancto
"Very good week with over 50 fish being caught, despite nearly 40c temperatures some days. Best were 64lb 8oz common, 48lb 11oz mirror, 48lb 12oz grass, 47lb 13oz mirror, 42lb 13oz mirror. All in all we had a great week's fishing. Clément came over every day to make sure everything was going well, really nice guy as well."
Titouan Yutri
"32 fish, scaled mirrors, fullys, linears, two real lumps and loads of stunning carp. The swims offer the chance to fish both the margins and open water, which allows you to adapt your fishing based on the weather and your own preferences. Highly recommended location, excellent stock. The on-site bailiff is attentive to customers, takes time with them, and has a good sense of humour! "

"Emeraude was created from our passion to build the kind of French carp lake we would love to fish ourselves. We were keen to maintain the raw, beautiful element of the lake and it is now home to some seriously big carp that continue to grow thanks to the rich natural food available. Clement, our bailiff, and I look forward to welcoming you soon."
