News at Morgane

Mick Holmes and Penny Wilson end their week with a haul of 67 fish. The final tally included 7 x 40's and 17 x 30's from the carp lake and 21 cats to 74lb 8oz on the cat lake... & they didn't even fish at night!

Last week (w/c 28 April) the carp spawned all at once, which made pretty miserable conditions for the anglers and our heart goes out to them.

We visited the venue this week on Monday afternoon and we found two knackered anglers. Mick Holmes and Penny Wilson were taking a well earned rest, but hey still had their carp rods in.

In just two days they had fought 14 big cats onto the bank on the cat lake and their carp lake catch had already included 3 x 40's and 4 x 30's.

Mick said that the action was so hot that they needed to rest and night fishing was out of the question. Mick's comment seemed to hang in the air as Penny's rod screamed off again and we filmed her taking a 27lb carp.

With spawning finished and hot action like this, Morgane is back - in more ways than one!

The first session of the season has seen 41 fish out!

The catch included 8 x 30lb+ carp and 4 cats. The largest cat was 2m long and too heavy for the anglers scales. Estimate weight for a 2m long cat is between 110 and 120lb.

Michel Bigot has arranged with the local baker in Mire to visit Margot, Morgane, Commons and Lords every morning with fresh bread, cakes, croissant etc.  Anglers will also be able to order Pizzas for collection in the evening at the bakery in Mire.

Morgane gets its final stocking of the year - another 12 carp, 4 commons and 8 mirrors, weights between 23lb and 31lb 12oz (the common).
