Details of your catches:
Dan 13 fish - biggest 38lb 08oz mirror pete 6 fish - biggest 44lb 00oz mirror 1x 40lb-50lb 8x 30lb-40lb 8x 20lb-30lb 1x 10lb-20lb 1x 0lb-10lb 19 fish also lost due to hook pulls!!
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
The fish moved around a lot so if there is space then move about. We often had 2/3 fish very quickly if we moved onto showing/feeding fish. We caught on all the different baits we took. We used a baitboat but also baited up from the far margin. Bottom baits did seem to get the bites quicker. The crayfish were a nightmare, very glad we took armamesh and shrink wrap. even the tough armamesh needed to be doubled over and still got wrecked over night. Certain areas were much worse than others.
Were the facilities what you expected?
Yes, very good. Having a large amount of freezer and fridge space was vital due to the very hot weather. Everything was clean and as expected.
Were you happy with them?
Yes
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Yes, I think it is important to read the feedback for this venue. The crayfish, the snags and the state of the fish's mouths are very important to know about and prepare for before the trip.
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
Yes, as usual angling lines were brilliant.
General Comments:
Be prepared to get in the boat when you get snagged. There are still snags mid water. Be prepared to tackle the crayfish! A lot of the fish have very badly damaged mouths, this caused us to loose a lot of fish. The hooks we took just weren't big enough. Size 2 minimum I would say were needed. It was a shame that half way through the week a large amount of grounds work in and around the lake were taking place. This meant due to the noise and disturbance we had to move our entire camp to the far end of the lake. We understand work needs to take place but we were told it would only be for an hour but it was all day.

Details of your catches:
Around 30 fish from 8lb-44lb. Around 5 common, 1 grass and the rest were mirrors. Fished 6-10 feet from the far margin.
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Simple bottom baits, 20mm boilies in a range of flavours. The most successful were manilla and krill.
Were the facilities what you expected?
Yes.
Were you happy with them?
Yes.
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Yes, if they sorted the crayfish and the bream problem out.
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
Yes.
General Comments:
Nearly all the fish were landed on swim 3 on the right hand side (along rope that separates you from the snags). The heat didn’t help, but the crayfish destroyed any bait you put out if it was in longer than 2 hours, even with korda shrink wrap. There seemed to be an endless amount of bream too, regularly getting hooked on 20mm boilies and a size 4 hook.

General Comments:
This venue is truly outstanding and gutted to come home. The weather was very hot so affected the fishing slightly but still produced massive fish. However the swims are to small for two good sized bivvies with swim 3 now a one man as half is roped off. We spoke to Phillipe about this as it’s easily rectified. We didn’t have the food package and chose to cook our self. Supermarket just down the road. We will be going back to get the ones that got away! *Angling Lines note* Thank you for your feedback. We have now limited the number of anglers on the lake to a maximum of 5 for future bookings - it has proved very subjective as to how much room there is on swim 3, and we never want anyone to feel 'hemmed' in.
