Rules

Fish safety and care are the two most important concerns. We have tried to keep the rules to a minimum and trust your common sense.

  • No more than 3 rods per angler and no rods to be left unattended. Only three people per booking to fish the lake if staying in gite.
  • Only landing nets and unhooking mats supplied by the lake to be used. If nets are broken cost will taken out of your deposit.
  • No sacking of carp (or keepnets for silver fish) Any cuts or wounds on fish, please spray with antiseptic supplied.
  • Please do not stand up to take photos of fish - keep close to mats. Please weigh all fish in the slings supplied
  • Rig tubing must be used and be at least 24 inches long (this helps stop cuts on fish)
  • Barbless or micro barbed hooks only. All rigs must be safe rigs and not fixed.
  • Line on carp rods must be at least 12lb and on float rods 5lb.
  • No children under 16 years old to fish alone.
  • Please use shelf life boilies in moderation, frozen are best as our fish seem to prefer them. There’s a bait freezer in the barn.
  • No nut baits of any sort to be used eg. Tiger nuts or peanuts.
  • Only commercially prepared particles to be used. These can be supplied on-site.
  • No litter to be left in swims or on the banks - please use the bins provided. No swimming or wading in the lake and no fishing from the island. We do not supply life jackets. No fires (BBQ on legs are OK).
  • No cars to be driven down to lake as the ground is very soft in places
  • No radios allowed on the lake.
  • Please do not use the banks as a toilet - there is an additional toilet in the barn.
  • We stock a range of Quest baits, but please order in advance so we can ensure we have what you want.
  • We cannot be held responsible for any theft or damage to personnel property anywhere on the premises or for accidents and loss.
  • We cannot be held responsible for your children’s safety when they go to the woods and streams and strongly suggest that you supervise them at all times - please remember the lakes and streams are close to the gite.
  • We will have to cut grass and carry out maintenance at times, but we will always keep this to a minimum.
  • And finally please do not feed Whisper our labrador as she will become your best friend! At 15 months old she is still very lively and not good for peace and quite (and rod pods!). She is very friendly.

Gite Rules

  • The gite will be available from 2pm on day of arrival and must be vacated by 10am on day of departure.
  • A deposit of £150 cash will be asked for at the start of your holiday and this will be returned when you leave providing no breakages or damage has occurred.
  • Please leave the gite as you will find it, clean and tidy.

  • No muddy boots in the gite - please leave them in the barn.
  • Please only park in designated areas as the ground is soft in other places.
