Overview
Brie is a beautiful, exclusive carp lake in a French nature reserve, booked privately for just 2 to 4 anglers with a lake record of over 62lb. It's one of our small exclusive carp lakes in France, fished across just two generous double swims built out into the water, giving you access to every feature of the lake.
The carp stock is mature and impressive, with a large number of 40lb+ and 50lb+ carp on the bank often (and backed by the 100+ catch reports published). As you'll see from the fish gallery, they're also undeniably some of the best looking scaley carp in France.
Brie was established as a carp fishery by the well respected carp angler Ron Woodward, who discovered the lake (then known as Etang au Bois) and set it up to his own specification before sadly passing away in 2012. The venue remains an ongoing testament to Ron, and it's clear it was created by a carp angler for carp anglers. It's now run by the prominent fish farmer Paul Bachelier, who is behind other famous lakes such as Jonchery.
Tree-lined to all but one end, the lake opens onto views across fields and up the driveway to a stunning French country house, where the simple facilities are situated.

John Kittle
"Brie has the best average weight of fish I’ve ever caught. Stunning lake with an incredible stock of fish. This is a venue where you are dropped in the middle of nature to forget the world and have an amazing holiday. Between 2 anglers we had 3 x 50+, 14 x 40+, 9 x 30+ and 2 x 20+."
Jamie Peters
"23 fish in total including 4 x 50's & 9 x 40's. Great weeks fishing, perfect weather conditions. Great venue."
Ross Barker
"48 carp over the week - 13 x 40lb+, 3 x 50lb+, 30+ x 30 lb+. Clay spots within the slit seemed to do the better fish, but far margins did a lot of the 30lb carp using 22mm hardened bottom baits. Great week!"

"My family has a long tradition of fish farming and managing exceptional carp fishing lakes in France. We are now in the third generation of fish farmers, and we first met the English carp angling community over 30 years ago. From the very beginning, we have bred our own carp to ensure the best experience for our anglers, offering different lakes for different fishing experiences. Our experienced and dedicated bailiffs Franck and Mark (pictured) are always excited to welcome you to the lakes."
