Overview
Golden Carp Lake offers big carp fishing in France with a social lodge and island cabin, and these might just be the best angler facilities in France.
This 12-acre spring-fed lake is perfect for experienced anglers, with an extensive stock of 40lb+ carp to over 70lb, alongside a seriously well-equipped social lodge positioned centrally to all swims, so you can fish and socialise with your group at the same time.
Alternatively for those wanting accommodation, at the other end of the lake sits a private island cabin (sleeping 4) with its own double swim and splash pool - making this an ideal option for bringing family and friends along too.
When booking this venue, you can choose from three options:
1. The whole venue - a lake exclusive for up to 7 anglers, with or without the lakeside cabin accommodation option
2. The island accommodation for up to 2 anglers and 2 non anglers - cabin accommodation and swim 1 together. You can fish from directly outside the accommodation or utilise swim one (a double) which is slightly further down the bank. This effectively gives you your own ‘end’ of the lake.
3. 'The social' for up to 5 anglers - you book swims 2, 3 and 4 together, these swims (two doubles and one single) are located next to the social lodge and facilities, effectively giving you 'half' of the lake.

Around a 5hr 30 drive from the ports of Caen and St Malo, the lake's proximity to Brantôme, the “Venice of the Dordogne”, as well as the big cities of Perigueux and Angouleme, ensure that families and guests have plenty to keep themselves entertained. Spend time sunbathing, swimming and unwinding, or enjoying a relaxed meal and a glass of wine in one of the many nearby restaurants, bars and cafés.
