These rules are in place to protect the fish’s welfare… not to spoil your holiday!!!
- No peanuts or tigers are allowed on the venue. No self prepared particles to be taken. We do sell safely prepared particles onsite.
- Barbless hooks only (no micro barbed or crushed barbed hooks).
Anglers found using barbed hooks will be excluded from fishing for the remainder of the trip.

- Antiseptic should be used on all wounds and hook damage (supplied free on venue).
- All landing nets will be supplied by A & J on the venue & must be the only ones used.
- No death rigs. Bolt rigs are ok… if in doubt ask the bailiff.
- No litter or cigarette butts to be left in your swim, refuse sacks are available free of charge and it keeps the fishery tidy. Glass bottles must be kept separate, again a bag is supplied.
- Whilst drinking on the complex is not a problem, and is one of many watercraft skills every angler has mastered, your own & the fish’s safety is of most importance. Any angler found to be to intoxicated will be asked to sleep it off until he is able to fish safely and competently.
- Unhooking mats and weigh slings are provided by A & J free of charge and must be used at all times.
- Rods must not be left unattended at any time. A maximum of three rods only.
- No permanent markers are to be used on our venue.
- The sacking of fish is not permitted. Grass carp must not be sacked under any circumstances.
- Tubing must be used on mainline to protect fish, if in doubt ask.
- The use of live baits is permitted.
- Please use toilet facilities supplied.
- No treble hooks or wire traces.
- Bait boats are allowed as long as they are used sensibly.
- The use of lead core leaders and shock leaders is banned; shock leaders may be used for spods and bait rockets. Any coated leaders are safe to use as long as the lead passes over the knot, safe coated leaders are sold onsite, again if in doubt ask.
- No braid to be used as reel line but is ok for rigs and marker rods.
- 15lb minimum breaking strain for reel line.
- No fires
- Violent behaviour will not be tolerated and will result in your removal from the venue.
At the end of your trip please do not discard any unwanted bait into our lakes, all unwanted bait should be given to the bailiffs for disposal into our stock ponds, this avoids the fish being over fed at the end of the week and spoiling the next week’s fishing.
We hope these rules are not too regimental but they are there to protect the welfare of the fish and to ensure that everybody enjoys good fishing, if you are not sure about anything please ask one of the bailiffs.
