General comments: Very difficult water! Advertised as a runs venue!!! Eric, the owner stated that only experienced anglers should fish the venue. One angler blank, one with 5 fish, one angler took 27 fish but only after a move of swim, very few other fish out of the lake during the week. Hard work as no action in open water or within casting distance. All fish came to bait boat tactics at 150+ yards. Should definitely not be listed as a runs venue. Straight from the owners mouth!!

Brief details of your catches: After a slow start which averaged a fish a day for the first four days,Then boom.... Seven in the one night which included 3x30's and a 43lb 5oz mirror (pb)....We had 16 fish between us... 2xlower doubles...8 x 20's.... 4 x 30's.... And the 1 x 40.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: We had four different types of bait which all produced and the rigs we used didnt seem to matter either....Just the one fish lost.

General comments: There are two lakes at Grosley - 9 Acre and a 25 Acre.... We fished the smaller one which we had to ourselves for 5 days.... My brother had never fished before so i was showing him the ropes and even he pulled out a 34lb 9oz mirror.... Had a wonderful time and will be back for some more good times next year.

General comments: Very good food and service. Fishing slow due to spawning, but Eric and family very helpful. Just fishing at wrong time unfortunately.

Brief details of your catches: We had over 30 fish, 2 x 30lb+ mirrors, 10 x upper 20's, 1 x 10lb sturgeon, the rest were mid-doubles.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Maize was the best bait, small areas put out by bait boat worked best. Plastic tiger nuts fished over hemp also worked well.

General comments: Eric the owner was very helpful on where to fish. The fishery was well kept, the swims were excellent. We will be back.

Brief details of your catches: Terry did not do too well. His best fish was a 28lb 8oz mirror equalling his best fish. I had over 350lb of fish, all mirrors. My best was 43lb 9oz, making it my best carp ever. See photo (sorry about the glasses).

General comments: Great fishing & Eric was the perfect host. The town was picture card gorgeous. Will hope to go back next May. Many thanks to all at Angling Lines.

Brief details of your catches: 18 Carp including 8 double, 5 twenty's and 4 thirty's (32lb 8oz, 32lb 10oz, 35lb 13oz & 39lb 14oz) also lots of 3-5lb bream

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Bait boat to the island margins, double bottom baits over mixed pellets. We used plenty of salmon oil in mix and this seemed to increase takes. Avoid using henp seed as there are loads of bream.

General comments: We fished pegs 13,14 & 15 and the nearest toilet/showers behind peg 10 were not in use so a long walk or even a drive to the main facilities was necessary. This block only has 2 showers and one toilet so would be a problem at busy times. The cabins around the lake are on busy pegs and are often occupied by the anglers on those pegs so don't expect use of them for cooking etc. Breakfast is great though and Eric is very helpful. Generally a promising venue and Eric is improving the site The bream are a big problem and often spoil the time and effort of positioning baits at range.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: All carp on Quest Baits Rahja Spice. Fished snowman style with 20mm + 10mm bottom baits. Also the pellets Eric sells were extremely good.

General comments: Lovely lake, wouldn't want too many on it. Bream a problem.

General comments: We would have caught more fish, but the first weeks weather was dire no good for carp or us. Eric and wife were very helpful, done everything they could to make thing work for us, tips and advice great.we will be back.Many thanks to Eric.
