Brief details of your catches: Weather was very hot for most of the week so tough fishing conditions but managed 5 carp: two 30's including the stunning big golden koi at 36-2 and a 30-9. Also had two 20's and a 19. All takes came at night and in the early morning. Lost 3 others, two were small but lost a big fish due to hooklink material failure. Not happy about that at all!

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Baiting heavily (half a big bucket spread over an area of about half a tennis court in size) with Quest Baits Garlic Feast with added hemp and tigers onto harder clay areas in open water. Time spent prodding about from a boat with a landing net pole was well worth it. Hookbaits were tigers and Quest Baits Pineapple Crush pop ups. I had some problems with poisson chats but only some of the time.

Were the facilities what you expected? Much better.

Were you happy with them? Completely. Lodge was fabulous - clean kitchen with microwave and oven, two fridges and a chest freezer. Showers were hot and powerful - lovely!

Would you recommend the venue to a friend? Without hesitation.

Would you recommend our services to a friend? Completely. Angling Lines are the best!

General comments: Weather was tough for fishing so had to work hard to catch despite the hot conditions. Well worth it for that gorgeous Koi alone. Laurent was a great host. He came round a few times to make sure we were OK and was a pleasure to chat to. My girlfriend came with me for the first time and loved it. She's happy camping anyway but the facilities were just superb. She now can't wait for the next trip. Some minor issues: The lake is nearer 20 acres not 12 as advertised. Many of the swims are built on hard gravel with large stones. Hard to get tent pegs in without a mallet and not that great for bivvy groundsheets. Luckily I was warned by a mate who'd been before to bring rod pods and a mallet. Perhaps Angling Lines could advise people of this in advance? Bark chippings on softer ground would be much better. None of this would deter me from going again or recommending the lake to others, top venue. Thanks to all at Angling Lines for organising the trip.

General comments: only down side was the journey as its a six hour journey not three and a half hours like stated apart from that lovley venue ********* NOTE FROM ANGLING LINES******** Normal travelling time to Margot is 3.5 hours from Caen.

Brief details of your catches: Saturday blanked.Sunday i had a 1 toner,38.7 Mirror,wot a fight, about 40 mins,then had a 21.2 Orange & White Koi best looking fish i have ever seen.Next day Roy had a 32llb Grass...WOW.... Plus Roy had a 42llb Cat.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Plenty of Pellet,Sweetcorn & Boillie sent out with a boat.

General comments: all round good week but would like to know what the 50 euro deposit was for as most of the kitchen facilities were missing ; we had to buy our own kitchen utencils if we had know we would have brought our own.

General comments: I had a fantastic weeks fishing, couldn't believe it when i caught first cast!! Mr Bigot was a great help after coming to collect us after we got lost at the shop. Will definitley be back. I'd also like to mention a new bait boat on the market which i took with me and this was the first time i had used one. General comments: We last visited Margot in 2004 & found a vast improvement to the lake on this return trip. There is better vehicular access, the pegs are tidier, the lake 2ft deeper & there is virtually no poisson chat problem.

General comments: the fishing was very slow due to spawning runs early hours,some fish deaths ,i my self weighed one of 44lb very sad but i must say that in my opinon this was due to stress or being spawnbound.the weather in france as the uk has been shit.this was explained to us by mr.bigot who must see this year in year out,he put our minds at rest and i have no reason to believe otherwise of his honest explaination.(we cant allways go to france an have a ding dong time,thats fishing)p.s many thanks to angling lines and mr.bigot.

General comments: there is a 50euro deposit not advisable to pay unless you check your swims and facillities first. Toilet blocked from day 4 still blocked when leaving no effort made to sort. Seen bailiff when we arrived and then waited 2hours to return deposit when waiting to go.

Brief details of your catches: some outstanding fish caught including a 54lb 5oz scale perfect common a 56lb 4oz mirror and a 37lb 8oz koi plus loads of 30's and 40's

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: most fish were caught at long range, but the 2 fifty's that were caught were at about 40 yards from the bank, single hook baits seemed to work best,but hitting the same spot with a small amount of freebies and your hookbait was the way to catch,we were using h block marker floats which we think made the fish wary, once we removed them from lake all hell broke lose

General comments: this is the second time we have been to margot and it is one hell of a venue, the weather was'nt as kind to us as it was last year, with one night everything freezing solid, but wat can i say, fantastic cant wait to go back

Brief details of your catches: Fantastic catch again.... 27 fish in total. 4 x 40s biggest being a 46lb common. 11 x 30s biggest being 39 1/2 lb. All was fantastic looking fish in mint condition. Once again another super 31lb koi.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: My tactics in my feedback last year was top secret, but this year are being revealled. Pink fluro wafters with 32mm stick containing pellet, halibut grounbait mixed with super source liquid. (leathel tactic)

General comments: Reason for revealing my secret tactics is because i want new anglers going to margot to expeirence the top quality carp fishing that has changed my fishing life in the last year.3 trips in just a year banking 70 fish including 8 x 40s, 29 x 30s and severall upper 20s. pictures to follow will be back next year
