Overview
We have represented Morganes for many years now and it remains as popular as ever. The real secret of its appeal lies in the fact that you can fish for quality carp in one lake... but turn round, walk 5m, and you can fish for catfish to well in excess of 100lb in a separate lake. There cannot be many lakes in France that can offer this
Add to this a brand new mobile home installed in 2010 which sits between the two lakes and you can see why it’s so popular.
Mr Molloy and his mates fished Morgane in May 2011 and between the 3 of them they had over 2,000lb of fish including a 43lb common and a cat of 76lb. Here’s what he had to say;

The Carp Lake
Morganes is owned by one of France’s most respected fish farmers, Laurent Bigot, so both lakes are managed exceptionally well. The average size of the carp in the carp lake is mid-twenties but there’s plenty of 30’s to go for and several 40’s.
In the cat lake the cats range from 40 to 120lb and will provide plenty of exciting and tense moments... and monumental fights! The cat lake can be fished from the wooden stage or from the right bank (looking from the stage). You can bivvy up along this right bank as an option.
The lakes are totally private with no public access and the shops are only 2 minutes away.

Like its sister lakes (Lords, Commons, Margot & Sapphire), Morgane is owned by one of France’s largest fish farmers, Michel Bigot, so the fish stocks are excellent.
In the carp lake there’s a massive stock of quality carp with an average size of mid 20‘s, loads of 30’s and several 40’s with the lake record mirror going to just over 50lb.
In the Catfish lake there’s a real good head of big cats with hardly any less than 40lb and going to well over 100lb.
In Nov '10 three more 40’s were added and then in Jan '11 another 9 big carp over 30lb and two more over 40lb were added to the carp lake.
In Feb '11 the lake was netted and every fish weighed, recorded and then returned. You can read the full stock list in the February Latest News report but in summary there were 94 carp to 50lb, with 24 x 30lb+ & 6 x 40lb+. Quite a stock for a 2 acre lake!
In Dec '12 four large carp were stocked including a magnificent 50lb mirror! (50lb 4oz, 41lb 7oz, 40lb 9oz, 38lb 9oz) and most recently (Jan '12) another 12 carp between 23lb and 31lb 12oz were added.

A brand new mobile home was installed on Morganes in April 2010 which offers all the usual facilities such as shower, toilet, battery charging etc.
There is a hob, microwave, an oven, pots, pans, cutlery, plates and cups. There is no TV.
There is a fridge but no separate bait freezer, but anglers can use the large bait freezers at the fish farm a few hundred yards away across the lane from the lake.
The tap water is mains water and perfectly safe to drink.
Michel Bigot has arranged with the local baker to visit Morgane every morning, except Wednesday, with fresh bread, cakes, croissant etc. Anglers will also be able to order Pizzas for collection in the evening at the bakery.

Carp Bait
This venue stocks Quest Baits. To order bait please contact the owner direct. The owners Email address & phone number can be found on the directions sheet which will be made available to you in your Customer Area on our website when your holiday has been paid for in full. Please order at least 4 weeks in advance. You pay the owner in Euros when you arrive. Please note; the Euro to £ sterling exchange rate does fluctuate throughout the year.

Please note; The lake only stocks the above Quest products. Large orders (min 25kg) of other flavours are available if you pre-order with a minimum of 5 weeks notice.

Please note; Bait orders are made directly between you and the lake owner and/or Quest Baits. We (Angling Lines) cannot be held responsible for any problems that may subsequently arise. If you order bait to be waiting for you when you arrive we strongly recommend you telephone or Email a few days before your arrival to make sure it will be there for you. In 99% of cases this will just be purely precautionary, but bait is such an important part of your holiday that it’s only sensible to take every step to avoid problems.

- Applies to a Dover - Calais ferry crossing. Other crossings will be discounted but it may not be possible to offer a 20% discount on the ferry crossing

Return visits;
Visit this lake 2 (or more) times in the same calendar year & get a 10% discount on the return visits!
We have lots of customers who make more than one trip with us and we want to reward that loyalty. Certain venues have agreed to participate in a discount scheme for return trips. This lake is one of those taking part… so book a return trip and get your 10% discount!
Conditions:
- Applies to fishing only & excludes accommodation (if normally booked separately), food, bait etc.
