Overview
Located in Normandy, La Fonte dates back to the 17th century. First stocked with carp in 1994, it has become a well established lake providing carp fishing holidays for many happy anglers.
The lake is an easy 1hr40 drive from Caen and less than 4hrs from Calais. It is hired out exclusively and is ideal for groups of up to 5 anglers, with a choice of 3 double swims that span one side of the lake.
There are plenty of 30lb+ and 40lb+ carp to aim for, with the lake record sitting at over 68lb. If it's hard fighting carp you are after, then this French carp lake is definitely a candidate for your list.
The facilities are good, including a well equipped kitchen cabin. The lake also offers great food package options.
In addition La Fonte also has optional accommodation; a large house overlooking the lake which can sleep up to 16 people, an ideal solution for a large group looking to take families along too. You can find more information under the 'facilities' tab.
