Were the facilities what you expected?

We felt the brochure photograph of the accommodation flattered it slightly. Top pond closed (very low water) Main pond was also quite low and really slow. Fish showing but not feeding. The suggested improvement with a change in weather didn’t happen unfortunately. Very snaggy in the deep end. Lost 7 cats with 30lb line returning frayed. I feel some form of aeration might have helped with the lack of oxygen in the water.

The accommodation is shared with the hosts who are friendly and available when needed *Angling Lines note* Just to clarify so as not to cause confusion, the accommodation is not shared with the hosts, it is a separate cottage at one end of a barn conversion & has its own private entrance etc. The owners do live in their own house which occupies the other half of the barn conversion :-)

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

We may have fished it at a bad time, we will never know. We had a nice break and caught some fish on a lovely looking pond, but we probably not go back.

General Comments:

Slightly disappointed with the fishing and water levels. We might have been spoiled in the past being pond side so the distance from the accommodation to the pond let it down slightly. Decent weeks holiday and the kids enjoyed it.

Yes! Lee and Tracy are great hosts and have a great venue thats well looked after.

General Comments:

Get your bait from Lee as the baits he supplies are great quality and the fish seem to enjoy them.

Details of your catches:

Nearly 1000lb of fish caught in tricky conditions. 2 x 40lbers, 8 x 30s plus numerous others. Catfish - 61, 57, 51, 49, 25…plus 6 snap offs (30lb line)!

Early evening fishes best. Don’t neglect the shallows! A good supply of Lee’s baits in each bait boat often produced instant bites.
