Fishing to the far Gorse Bank, changing from hole to hole to find the fish.

General Comments:

Bring a baitboat, real advantage! Don’t pummel it with bait as the fish will turn off. Be equipped for the catfish as they are scrappers! Change positions to find them + relax!!!! NB: A couple of records were broken this trip. Reports on that and Photos to follow :)

Details of your catches:

A challenging week probably reflective of end of season with only the CatFish on the feed, Common Carp 19lb & 13.5lb graced the bank alomng with hard fighting 50lb Catfish and another 29.3lb one on the bank (boy those cats know how to pull!).

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

15mm CC Moore Pacific Tuna boilies fished bottom bait to far bank.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Lee & Tracey were great hosts welcoming us with tea and information about the lake and fishing stock. The lake is very private blending well with the local wildlife. Probably one for the future but toilet facilities closer to hand actually on the specimen lake would be good as well as chicken mesh or similar on the great platforms Lee has built in order to reduce the slippiness when wet would be good.

General Comments:

Enjoyed the week and whilst not a lot of fish made the bank we had a great Father & Son week of laughs and just being together next to this hidden gem of a lake.

4 carp landed from gorse bank. Lots of cats lost

General Comments:

Angling lines was fantastic we had to swap ferrys on way home and they couldnt of done more to help us. Lee and Tracy are fantastic people. Food package was the best, pudding was better lol

Carp to 34lb 11oz Catfish to 26lb 6oz Grass Carp to 24lb 8oz

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Fishing tight to the far margins or 1 rod length off. Picked up the odd fish in open water but majority of runs came from the far bank.

Yes, we have been to the venue previously (lee was just designing the floating cabin at the time) and it certainly gives a massive added bonus to the venue.

General Comments:

Fishing was slow at times but thats fishing. Rested the swims throughout the day till mid-late afternoon which seemed to result in picking fish up a lot quicker.
