General Comments:

Great hospitality from Lee & Tracy. Lovely Cottage. Fishing was tough but had a great time.

4 catfish, 11 carp, 5 bream, 1 Eel

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Small baits, single boilies or pop up. Dropped hooksize from 6 to 8. Catfish are huge, recommend heavy gear with line above 25lb. Krill and Manilla pop ups worked well in the shallow part of the lake when fished tight against the far bank.

Were the facilities what you expected?

The main cottage was really nice and also very clean, shower worked fine and also hot running water. Could do with more 3 pin sockets as there was only one extension with 4 plug sockets. We decided not to take adapters as advised that there were 3 pin sockets so found it hard going when charging boats, phones and power banks. Floating cabin toilet was blocked and the BBQ was dissapointing, also had to clean this before we could use it.

Were you happy with them?

Happy overall just a couple of minor faults that didn't really affect the stay, Lee and Tracy are a lovely couple and great hosts. Ideally located for supermarket, petrol station and tobacco shop which is only a 10 minute drive away.

General Comments:

Thankyou for a great experience, we have rebooked for next year but are trying a different venue. This isn't because we are unhappy as I will be returning to fish the lake again at some point in the future.

6 Catfish from 40lb to 49lb 5 Grass Carp to 25lb over 30 Common / Mirrors up to 36 3/4lbs handful of bream!

Ronnie rig with bottom baits. Bait boat over to far trees. Lees homemade boilies worked well, especially the Bombays

General Comments:

To be honest, spent more time at the lake in bivvy than expected. So didn’t spend much time in the accommodation, but was nice to have somewhere to go and freshen up. Lee and Tracy very helpful and friendly.

7 Catfish to 42lbs 4 Mirror Carp to 37lbs 4 Common Carp to 23lbs 3 Grass Carp to 21lbs Fished 5 days and 2 nights out of seven with 2 people fishing.

Chopped down boilie topped with fake sweetcorn. Fished over a mix of chopped boilie, sweetcorn and carp pellet.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Very nice facilities, very clean. Everything you need to have a great family holiday. The floating lodge was very handy to store food, cook lunch and clean up during the day.

General Comments:

This location is perfect for a small family or small group of fisherman. The location is beautiful, very quiet and set in the countryside. The local supermarket 5mins away has everything you need.
