Details of your catches:

Not very much as fish were spawning

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Were the facilities what you expected?

Shower block and electrics were about a mile away from the lake, toilets looked like something off a horror film.

Were you happy with them?

Showers were sometimes cold, right hand shower took your skin off and left hand shower was like someone dribbling over you.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

No, fish Calleaux if you are coming here as it is right next to the facilities.

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

Yes

General Comments:

Arrived, was told the owner would draw our pegs, didn’t see owner until about 6pm by which time we had to sort out where we was fishing by ourselves with the other fisherman ( this alone could ruin a fishing break if it went badly)

Fridges and freezers are a mile away with no locks supplied and are accessible by other fisherman. No UK plugs or adapters to charge batteries etc plus there are only 3 sockets for both lakes. Showers and toilet are in a terrible state, just about usable but don’t bring your Mrs!!

*Owner note* Thank you for your feedback and sorry that the facilities did not match expectations. We will check the showers to make sure they are functioning correctly. Regarding hot water, occasionally if a number of people have just used the shower it does mean a short wait for the boiler to catch up. Regarding the swim draw, as per our supplied rules, unfortunately anglers must arrive at 10:30am in order to meet the bailiff (as he has to also visit other lakes afterwards). If anglers arrive later then the bailiff is not available to return until the evening.

General Comments:

A very snaggy lake hard to fish the far margins due to snags and sunken trees but there are markers already on the good spots. There are a lot of nice big carp held up in the fenced nature reserve.

*Angling Lines note* Thank you for your feedback, we have discussed the carp beyond the net with the owner. He assures us that the net has been checked recently and does not allow carp to move between the two sides. So, whilst there are some carp in the nature reserve, these are not part of the Autels stock :-)

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

No probably not

Due to snags and fish are not in the best condition, too many big cats that bully the carp off your baits. Need thinning out in my opinion
Quiet a bit of rubbish about as well
Was not met by the owner on arrival
Found locals fishing on the lake when we arrived as well had booked exclusive
Take a barrow as there iscno van Access around the lake neither is the site private had some dog walkers andcsime dodgy people walk around

*Angling Lines note* Thank you for your feedback. We have discussed all the points with the owner and have the answers below.

The group of French anglers on the lake before were aware they must leave by 09:30 but they forgot to wake up - the owner did wake visit at 09:30 and made sure they were up and packing away, with the rods out of the lake. Obviously their delay in packing up didn't leave enough time for them to finish before you arrived and we sincerely apologise for this. Regarding a welcome on arrival - unfortunately the bailiff can only be there to welcome anglers between the time specified for arrival (09:30-10:30), it is ok to arrive afterwards if groups wish but as the owners have other lakes to visit too, it means they cannot come back around to the lake again until later in the day after 4pm. If there are any issues on arrival after 10:30 then the bailiff is always available by phone.

As far as the walkers, signs have been put up forbidding them to enter the premises, in case of any problem anglers have our phone number (which your group did call and the owner arrived within 5 minutes). This rarely happens but once in a while it does and we will always respond.
