Simon (only fished 3 nights): 23lb mirror, 3 30’s and 3 40’s to 48lb
Mark: 2 singles, 1 double, 10 20’s, 9 30’s, 6 40’s, 2 50's plus 2 grass carp 43.0 and 51.0
Graham: 1 single, 10 20’s, 15 30’s, 6 40’s, 1 50, 2 grass carp 38.0 and 41.0

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Lake plum boilies fished on basic D rigs or hair rigs cast to middle of lake. Baited with scattered boilies and spodded pellets/maize in centre of lake.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Facilities are excellent, as expected: large fridge/freezer, hot showers. The covered area by the facilities at Brie was especially useful for cooking and drying out clothes when it was raining heavily.

General Comments:

We were booked for Jonchery but felt that with bad weather forecast we had a better chance of fish at Brie. As no-one was booked there, Mark kindly allowed us to move to Brie. Weather was terrible in the middle of week with torrential rain, so we reeled in the rods until it passed over. The lake came up almost to our bivvies but the lake overspill coped with it and water dropped on Thursday.

We thought we would miss the football final but Mark and Anita kindly invited us over to watch the game!

In the end we had a fantastic session, Graham and myself both got new PB grass carp. We also caught a few small tench but unfortunately lost big ones.

We used lake bait (plum boilies) and also spodded pellets (5kg boiles each + 15kg pellet) rigs were mono D-rigs or standard hair rigs Fish caught mainly in the middle of the lake but some in near margin and towards the far bank.

This was our second trip; lovely water and we’re booked for two more trips next year - can’t wait to get back!

Details of your catches:

What a fantastic venue, it doesn't get much better than Brie, 2 well spaced swims in a beautiful setting with plenty of room, and so peaceful you can here a pin drop.

I fished peg 1 at the dam end and had 66 carp over the week which included 4 x 50's and 25 x 40's, the water levels were down a bit but certainly didn't affect the fishing, they were even feeding in almost 40 degrees, I could of caught more but refrained from fishing the nights as the days were too hot to sleep.

I used a mix of boilie pellet and particle, over 90kg used over the week

General Comments:

This time of year a lot of the french lakes suffer a bit with water levels, don't let this put you off, there are always slightly deeper gulleys and holes if you take the time to look for them, I had runs from the margins in under 18 inches of water the fish don't seem to care
