Robert Court

6th Jun to 13th Jun 2015

4 anglers

Details of your catches:

We had 13 fish between 4 anglers. Smallest fish 23lb and biggest was 42lb

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Fishing was really tough until thursday when the conditions improved, then we started to catch over a light scattering of bait. Pop ups seemed to sort out the bigger fish.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes, basic but adequate. A water butt might be handy for the porterloo.

Were you happy with them?

Yes, they were clean enough and close enough.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Yes, lake was similar to what you would expect from a good english syndicate. Had to work for the fish but we had an average size of 29lb and some of the fish were stunning.

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

Yes, good value and sorted out all the travel arrangements

General Comments:

Beautiful lake and we were left to our own devices. The fridge freezer was suitable for food and drink but wasn't big enough for bait. The fishing was generally quite tough but we had a small glimpse of what the venue was capable of for the last 2 nights when we had 11 of our 13 fish.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Due to the hot weather it fished really hard. Fish caught on different methods pop ups and bottom baits, all fish caught early mornings

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes. fridge freezer was large enough for storing food, showers good, not enough power sockets outside for 4 people

Were you happy with them?

Yes

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Most definitely

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

Indeed and have all ready.

General Comments:

Brie is a fantastic place, plenty of space great views, stacks of wild life. Cant do nothing about the weather which was a shame, fantastic for sunbathing not fishing. Mark the bailiff could not do enough for us, still we had a few fish and will be going back as soon as poss

4 anglers

Details of your catches:

43 in total: 20s - 13 30s - 24 40s - 5 - 4 Commons to 45.12lb and 1 Mirror 44.8lb 50s - 1 Biggest 51.12lb Mirror

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Watch the water & follow the fish, they tend to move as the weather/wind changes. Swim 1 - fishing both margins was successful (but be quiet), as well as open water (50-75 yds) and tight to island Swim 2 - fish showing down far bank (250yds away) so did send a few baits close to them which did produce, but note the silt/chod is heavy and lilly pads are down there, but still didn't lose any fish.. other than that open water did tend to produce a lot of fish, and did have fish 10-20yds off island. I tend to fish the same as in the UK, so very little bait used all week, and was also told previous week anglers had put alot of bait in and catch report were low.

Were the facilities what you expected?

We did expect a bigger bait freezer and there are limited plugs available to charge phones, bait boats etc...

Were you happy with them?

Yes, but basic.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Yes definitely

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

Yes definitely. The team are angling lines are just brilliant. Very helpful, offer loads of advice on venue, tactics and feedback. We will be back again next year and won't be booking with anyone else.

General Comments:

Brie is a wonderful venue literally in the middle of the woods (as was previously known). The wildlife was unbelievable with sightings/ hearings of wild bore, Golden Orioles, nightingales, cuckoos, green woodpecker, white storks, cranes and black kites. The lake is very enclosed and the swims are spacious enough for 2 anglers. however would be better with bark rather than hardcore/gravel especially as we did have a lot of rain all week. We will be back next year.
