A good week with lots of 30's and a few 40lb fish. The smallest fish caught was 21.8lb, the biggest 45lb common from open water.

Fishing to the open water on a single boilies on a semi fixed bolt rig with small beds of bait (20-30 boilies).

General Comments:

A quiet lake with a good head of fish. Lots showing on the far bank in front of both swims but most fish still came out from the open water. Fishing to the showing fish didn't bring many takes. The lake is shallow but fish were caught in all depths of water.

Details of your catches:

25 fish, biggest 38lb. All fish caught at night. Fish holed up in sanctuary of pads during the day made fishing frustrating. All fish were hard fighting and immaculate condition.

Simple rigs, all fish on boilies at night.

Simple but clean and adequate. Friendly owners of big farm house.

General Comments:

Lake very peaceful and tranquil. Could have caught a lot more fish if fished harder at night but very trying (tired).

Details of your catches:

I fished swim 1 and managed to get the fish feeding on the second day, around 100 yards out into the lake. I caught steadily through the week and ended up with 13 carp with a mixture of commons and mirrors, made up of a 32lb 14oz common, 32lb 7oz common, 32lb 4oz mirror, 31lb 8oz mirror and the rest being around 27lb plus. Jim Kelly struggled on swim 2 and ended the week with a common of 43lb. All the fish were in pristine condition.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

I used a boilies only, no particle approach. Just Krill and HG All seasons bottom baits along with some yellow fluro pop ups on my version of the Ultimate barbless rig.

Exactly as described. The shower block was perfect, instant hot water and very clean and new.

General Comments:

Brie was not an easy water to master this week due to the very high pressure atmospheric conditions. However, with a bit of thought I got the fish feeding.

With 2 days fishing still to go, 11 caught so far, biggest was 46.03lb.
