Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Far margin fishing from 8:30pm and letting the spots rest during the day, fishing different spots during daylight.
18mm and 20mm bottom baits with enough in the hopper to get a bite. Fed the margin spots at 5pm ready for bite time which was during the night.
Mix used was boilie crumb with pellets and 12mm boilie.
Used a bait boat and not the lake boat which created too much disturbance, although I did use this to land fish from Lilly pads.

Were the facilities what you expected?

For anglers this is exactly what I expected, however if you are with your family then I have recommended a few upgrades directly with Francois.
1- Better landing nets
2- change the plastic cups to proper cups
3- One from my wife - A teapot
4- we purchased a chopping board and left it there for others to use
5- Water filter to get rid of the brown colour.

Yes I was happy with them, and Francois took my feedback in the spirit it was given.

Absolutely, the lake is beautiful and the fishing, although challenging at times, it very good.

General Comments:

This is a stunning lake with quality fish. If you work hard and use your knowledge and watercraft, the rewards are there. Francois and Jonathan are such great guys who stopped at nothing to ensure our stay was the best it could be. It was a pleasure to wake up to this lake every day for a week.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

20mm Sticky Krill Wafter. Quite a few snaggy spots, so definitely find your spots. Deeper water to the left worked best for us.

Were the facilities what you expected?

The mobile home was not what we expected after reading all the previous reviews. We did expect the property to be cleaner, and we did express our issues/concerns to Jonathan face to face.
As for the fishing, faultless.

Were you happy with them?

In terms of the mobile home. There were ants all over in every room, as well as the sofa and kitchen surfaces. Whilst we understand nature, we do feel more can be done in terms of cleanliness. The kitchen surfaces and dining table was also was covered in a lot dirt. The floors were sticky. We did find the mobile home to be somewhat lacking in facilities such as microwave, decent knife set and a work surface to prepare on. BBQ was also left dirty. There also needs to be more notice or explanation regarding the water. It's extremely brown and full of sediment. We were told to run the water for a while, but it didnt change. Hot water in the morning in the shower was also very hit and miss, but no issues in the evening. As for the fishing and lake itself, perfect.

All this is just constructive criticism as the lake is extremely tranquil and the surroundings is unbelievable.

We are sorry the accommodation did not fully meet expectations during your stay - the owners have taken on board your feedback and put remedies in place. Ant control measures have now been put in and a new water filtration system has been ordered to improve water clarity, in the meantime guests are advised to run the water for a short period before use to allow the filter to properly kick in. Although there is no microwave there is a countertop oven and a gas hob for cooking - we have clarified the description. Regarding the hot water the owners have now added a notice to make it clear to guests that it will need to be turned on and allowed time to heat up before use, we apologise you were not made aware of this during your visit. Thank you again for the points raised.

General Comments:

Amazing weather, great location, and some great catches! Supermarket, petrol station and even a 24 hour pizza machine is only 5 min drive away. The lake itself is nestled in the woods, where you are surrounded by wildlife making you feel secluded and private.

24 carp caught, two lost. Biggest carp 48lb, others were 44lb, (40lb caught twice), 37.5lb, 37lb, 33lb, 30lb, 2x 28lb, 3x 27lb, 2x 26lb, 3x 25lb, 2x 24lb, 24lb common, 17lb scaley, 16lb, 15lb.

General Comments:

Brilliant week fishing at The Carp House in La Brûlatte, 24 carp caught. Conditions were good, lovely weather. The lake is beautiful, nestled in the woods and the facilities are all you need. Will be returning.

Details of your catches:

Around 20 takes, 15 landed to high 40's. Beautiful carp in pristine condition.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Multiple tactics worked well here, fishing the deeper areas, shallower spots to the large lilly pads on the island, all spots produced, simple snowman rigs wrapped in paste was the winning tactic for me, dropped using the boat tight to the pads. Long lengths of 40lb mono snag leader was the best way to get them out of the pads safely. Taking the boat out to land the carp rather than pulling them through the pads is a much better option :)

Were the facilities what you expected?

Amazing facilities! All at the waters edge, lovely kitchen, shower and HUGE covered seating area right at the waters edge its perfect!

Were you happy with them?

100% nothing to fault they were great!

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

I would 100% recommend this place if your a duo or a small family, its a beautiful location with great fishing and facilities. Being in the middle of the forest makes you feel very secluded and private.

General Comments:

A fantastic venue with an intimate and enchanting feel. This is the type of lake that every angler dreams about, silent surrounding filled with wildlife and wild flowers, amazing facilities at the waters edge. Comfortable and well kept swims and most importantly lots of hard fighting pristine carp. This lake will not disappoint its a real gem!
