Despite the weather topping 38 Degrees I manged 7 fish, biggest being 43lb with a couple of thirties and the rest twenties.

Standard Multi-Rig with a pineapple dumbell wafter over pellet and tinned corn.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes, we were very grateful of the outdoor space and especially the shade. We only really spent time in the accommodation over night and it had everything we needed.

General Comments:

Just a quick thank you to Jonathon and Co, would have preferred the weather to be a little cooler. The fish are definitely in there, there was lots of activity day and night just didn't want to feed. I did mention to Jonathon to maybe trim the some of the bankside vegetation near the accommodation a little so there was a better view of the beautiful lake.

Details of your catches:

I caught 24 fish of all sizes and in great hard fighting condition. The pick of the bunch were 3 forties with the biggest one about 44lb.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

I caught from many different spots and on all types of rigs. You can fish for a bite or bait a spot, either worked well for me. Bites came mostly around late evening to the early hours. Hard hook baits are a must as there are crayfish in the margins. I choose to buy a 20kg sack of 9mm house pellet, they’re really good and break down slowly.

Were the facilities what you expected?

The facilities were better than I had expected. Everything you need is there. The sheltered area in front of the house is brilliant, the bbq is awesome.

Were you happy with them?

I was very happy with the facilities. Excellent cooker, brilliant shower, tv and wifi. I bivvyed up next to my rods so I didn’t make us of any bedrooms but that’s no problem at all.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

I would class the venue as an easy to moderately difficulty of fishing. I’d recommend this lake to someone as their first trip to France. It’s a 1.5 hour drive from St Malo.

I always do.

Can’t wait to go back. François is a gentleman and will help you with any questions. Time goes too quickly there and I was gutted to leave.
