Lake Champion does it again with a 51lb Common!, 28th May

Van driver, author, song writer, concert stage builder, and La Gléhias veteran Saul Mulvey, here for the week with Mark Gould, and lifelong friend and fellow former record holder Merlin Barnes, has managed to do it again!

For the third time, Saul has managed to charm a record breaking lovely lady to the bank. The first time was back in 2018 with a 45lber on a Ouest Malibu boilie from the lake inlet. Then again the following year in 2019 from the Gorse bank on a 2xhair-rigged Ouest Malibu boilies over a handful of pellet at 47lb.

This time around, the gorgeous “BIG COMMON” was landed on a Banoffee wafter with Essential IB over Ouest Malibus and pellet, from around the middle of the Gorse Bank.

For the record, Saul Mulvey is the current Men’s Common Carp Lake Record holder as of 19:50 on Wednesday 22nd May 2022, having banked the great beauty at 51lb!

Having been the first to break the 50lb mark here with a carp, we thought it only fitting to swap out our traditional bottle of La Gléhias red for a nice bottle of Champers!

Well done Saul! Don’t let it go to your head!

Bourbons (French Vanilla in a Fish/seed base) 12 euros

All our boilies are made with the very highest quality ingredients and have a very proven track record, they are 18mm bottom baits and are hand rolled to order here on site. Orders must be made at least one month before you arrive.

PARTICLE AND PELLET

5kg 5mm Carp pellet 15 euros

1kg Prepared Maize 5 euros

Particle and Pellet are normally kept in stock so you can be topped up during your stay if needed, however the main bulk of your pellet should be ordered one month in advance along with any boilies.

Spectacular Week of Fishing on our Ouest Baits, 24th Aug

Last week the Nelson party banked a staggering 73 fish on our
lake baits! They were using our Ouest Malibus and Ouest Atlantics along
with our Partimix and 5mm pellet. The Malibus worked particularly well in the
shallows with one angler landing 30 carp on his own, breaking his PB several
times along the way!

This year we have been inundated with orders for our boilies and we do
understand that bookings have been moved, sometimes at the last minute.
Normally we ask for one month’s notice on bait orders, but this may be difficult
with things the way they are in the world at the moment so we just ask, please
could future anglers give us as much notice as possible with their bait orders
to ensure everything runs as smoothly as possible here.

PCR TEST, 7th Aug

As it stands at the moment, it is necessary to take a PCR or Antigen test within 72 hours of your return to the UK. We are happy to organise a PCR test with you at the local nurse or the laboratory and costs around 50€. The results will normally be sent to you via email within 24 hours.
