On all our trips to Jonchery we have always found the best tactic is to use the lake bait. Listen to Mark he is spot on with his advice and spots that are catching.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes, you get access to a fridge, freezer, charging points, toilet and shower. We choose not to use the cooker and kitchen facilities as we always have Anita’s meal package, the food is delicious and comes highly recommended

General Comments:

Another trip over and already looking forward to the next one. Mark & Anita ensure the lake is clean and tidy. A well managed fishery and already booked to go back.

27 fish for the week, mostly carp to 48lb and catfish 65lb

Lake bollies with toppers, fished about rod length off the bank

General Comments:

Excellent lake, it was about a meter deep all over with some carp holes going down to 1.3m, It’s a 15 min walk from the lake to the toilets and showers.

General Comments:

Overall happy but could do with less kittens in the lake or at least advertise there are alot of cats
*Angling Lines note* Thank you for your feedback. We’ve spoken to the bailiff Mark and he assures us the catfish are being actively removed, with a keepnet in place for the smaller cats and a netting is planned for the winter to reduce their numbers further. We’ve also now added more information to the venue page on how best to avoid the smaller cats in the meantime.

Early on in the trip we caught an awful lot of smaller carp and approx 20 catfish to near 20lb which we put in the stock pond. This was frustrating dropping leads for small fish but the big girls started to play ball after a day or so.

General Comments:

Disappointed with the amount of smaller carp and cats but always the chance of a large carp on Jonchery 8. Mark is a great host.
