Details of your catches:

My 3rd trip. Swim 11: 16 runs, 11 landed to 39lb. Also only 1 bream thankfully (once caught, I stopped baiting that area for 5 hours). After lots of work carried out by the owners its a lot less snaggy now... I only lost 2 in the snags. Thanks Seb.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

120 metres straight out... nice gravel bar and only a couple of smaller snags on the way in from there. That bar runs into swim 10 I think. I used an orange brick marker to ensure I was on point with my bait boat. Yes there's also a gravel bar further out at 3-4 metres off the buoys, but there is a massive snag at a further 5 metres from the buoys is a problem. I saw a few fish in the margins, but not even a liner from there.

Fished with Chinaman (half a boilie on top of a boilie) and pink plastic...plus a straight forward wafter (Cel 20ml) with no fake corn. Felt the Cel on its own had the edge. Must use leader because of gravel bar. Wouldn't bait too heavy... bites took a long time coming... 75% at night. 2 scoops on each rod. Also had 2 of the runs doing a pub chuck at 80 yards right of the swim with a PVA bag. Defo make sure hooks are sharp after each fish. Took 60 kilos of bait... used 35.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yep...2 toilets and 2 showers...lots fridge/freezer space. Safe and secure place.

Were you happy with them?

Yes

Details of your catches:

4 carp to 25lb, 15 bream & 2 tench

Way to many bream… very annoying after spending so long getting your rods on the spots only to have a bream take your 22mm snowman 5 mins later.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Bottom baits and pop ups

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes

Were you happy with them?

Yes but the shower curtains are very grubby and need replacing.

General Comments:

Overall a nice week away in a lovely setting. My 4h time here and the fishing was not so good for me this time. That said it seemed those fishing the end margin areas done a lot better than open water areas. Thats fishing for you… owners very helpful and pay regular visits.

General Comments:

A great weeks fishing once I worked out what worked, first time fishing this venue and would return again I found the average fish size was 25lb. I would mention the arrival times need changing after speaking to the owner you can arrive at the lake from 11am as your pegs are pre booked, but on the rules it states from 2pm.
*Angling Lines note* Thank you for your feedback. We’re pleased to hear you had a great week’s fishing. We’ll check the arrival times with the owner and update the information if necessary.
