About the Lake
The whole lake is 29 acres, each half therefore covering around 14.5 acres. With few snags, little weed and well spaced swims, this lake gives plenty of options for anglers.
The lake depth varies from around 1-4 metres, averaging at around 3 metres. This isn't a lake with any particularly shallow bays or a shallow end for example, even in the middle of the summer it has good depth.
The lake bottom is a mixture of sand, gravel and clay spots - many carp are caught midwater but don't forget the overhanging margins too. It's well worth taking a little time to explore the options in your swim at the beginning of the week and then reap the rewards.
The use of a boat or baitboat is a definite advantage on a lake of this size - sometimes the casting distance to the middle can be 160m. Rowing boats are available to hire on site if required (find more info on this under the facilities tab.
The floating boom across the centre of the lake gives a great guide for each swim as to their boundaries. Check out the lake map on the photos section here for a good idea of the layout.
There is good vehicle access to get your tackle to your swim and you can park behind your swim for the week if you wish. Swims 2, 3 and 5 also have enough space for a caravan or campervan.
There are no poisson chat to our knowledge. The lake does contain some bream, which the owner is actively removing. Also some crayfish, but these have not caused any issues for our anglers - we recommend taking the usual preventative measures if going carp fishing in France in the warmer months when they may be more active.
