About the Lake
The lake is rectangular in shape with an island with willow trees sitting off side to the centre of the lake. It provides plenty of interest for up to 5 anglers.
The shallowest area is in the corner nearest to the gated entrance. This then slopes gently away and the main body of the lake is between 2ft to 6ft in depth with a silt based bottom. Surrounded by a firm track and grassy area, the lake and lodge are easily accessible by car (including larger vehicles such as campervans), weather conditions permitting.
There are several small patches of lily pads around the lake, and the margins are scattered with overhanging bushes, with a tree stump and some roots at each end of the island, providing plenty of features to fish.
Some weed growth occurs in the shallowest corner of the lake, but it generally does not cause any problems. There are no poisson chat. We have seen some crayfish in the lake but these have not caused issues for any of our anglers.
Unhooking mats are available for your use.
