General Comments:

Brilliant week fishing at The Carp House in La Brûlatte, 24 carp caught. Conditions were good, lovely weather. The lake is beautiful, nestled in the woods and the facilities are all you need. Will be returning.

Around 20 takes, 15 landed to high 40's. Beautiful carp in pristine condition.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Multiple tactics worked well here, fishing the deeper areas, shallower spots to the large lilly pads on the island, all spots produced, simple snowman rigs wrapped in paste was the winning tactic for me, dropped using the boat tight to the pads. Long lengths of 40lb mono snag leader was the best way to get them out of the pads safely. Taking the boat out to land the carp rather than pulling them through the pads is a much better option :)

Were the facilities what you expected?

Amazing facilities! All at the waters edge, lovely kitchen, shower and HUGE covered seating area right at the waters edge its perfect!

100% nothing to fault they were great!

I would 100% recommend this place if your a duo or a small family, its a beautiful location with great fishing and facilities. Being in the middle of the forest makes you feel very secluded and private.

Angling lines always provide the best service for carp fishing holidays 10/10 always!

General Comments:

A fantastic venue with an intimate and enchanting feel. This is the type of lake that every angler dreams about, silent surrounding filled with wildlife and wild flowers, amazing facilities at the waters edge. Comfortable and well kept swims and most importantly lots of hard fighting pristine carp. This lake will not disappoint its a real gem!

4 larger ones, 32lb, 37lb, 42lb and 46lb, all mirrors
x1 20-25lb
x16 10 -19lb
*Confirmed netting taking place in winter 2025 to thin out the smaller carp*

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

The fish in here do love their bait, boilies were the way to go. Larger hook baits singled out the bigger fish. 22mm hook baits and a scatter of various sizes over the area around.

Were the facilities what you expected?

The lodge was lovely to have, comfortable with two twin rooms and one double. Open plan living and kitchen area with sofa and small tv. Also a toilet and separate shower room. Outside you are greeted with an open plan barn I guess, so you can sit outside and be protected from the elements whilst enjoying the view of the lake.

Lovely lake on the edge of a deep wood with nobody else around for a good mile. Very peaceful, really enjoyed my stay
