Details of your catches:

1 x 51.6lb 6 x 40lb + Lots of 30lb + and a few 20lb 2 x sturgeon to 66lb Plenty of Cats between 8-35lb Between 7 anglers we managed 6 PB’s.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Mostly fishing at range with plenty of bait. If you don’t want cats then sweet nutty baits were better. We had a lake exclusive so we had spare swims to move to when the fishing became more challenging.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes. Bathroom, freezers and plenty of charging points with UK adapters. Frank the host was always on hand for anything we needed.

Were you happy with them?

Yes, shower could do with an upgrade at some point but we were there for the fishing not the facilities and it had everything we needed.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Yes definitely. As long as you like a more natural lake without manicured swims then this is a great venue with beautiful fish and all seemed to be a good size.

General Comments:

There are some real big sturgeon and cats in there so be aware!

Very poor week, this is our 4th trip and the stock levels must have dropped. 10 good anglers on the lake, lots of small catfish upto 20lb these weren't in last time we came, also lots of single figure carp. 2 x 30s and 2 x 40s rest were doubles and low 20's

I have recommended vaumigny to lots of people, unfortunately dont think I will return. Frank is a fantastic owner but I feel the fish stocks have been depleted over the last 4 years since we last came and I won't return. *Angling Lines note* Thank you for your feedback. We’re really sorry to hear you had a frustrating week at Vaumigny. Looking at the catch reports this year they are in line with what we’d expect for this lake and we haven’t seen any significant change in overall results. We are genuinely sorry it didn’t work out for you this time.

Bottom baits Close in for cats Use strong tackle Get the carp in close as quick as you can to stop them kiting into the margin snags Learn your swim with an echo to find and snags. Pretty much all night bites. Fish meals will get the cats if that's what you want

Second trip to Vaumigny. Really like the feel of the lake and Frank is a great bloke. Visited with my young daughter and she had a great time. She can't stop talking about the catfish
