Details of your catches:
Over the week I caught 12 Mirror carp and 1 Catfish which included carp of 39lb 14oz, 36lb 2oz, 37lb 6oz, 33lb 6oz, 37lb 8oz, 4 mid twenties, and 3 high doubles, along with a catfish of 20lb 13oz..
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
I used over 30 kilo of Quality Baits CM60 18mil boilies fed steadily to 2 main areas of the lake throughout the week. The fishing at our end of the lake was slow as the wind was pushing up to the other end for most of the week. As soon as the wind changed and pushed our way the carp followed the wind. By keeping up a trickle of bait I did catch most days.
Were the facilities what you expected?
Yes. There is plenty of fridge and freezer space and for those with bait boats there is plenty of electrical points for charging them up. The single toilet and shower is kept clean and has hot water at the turn of a tap.
Were you happy with them?
Yes
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Yes. This is going to be a top water for Angling Lines and will surely provide most customers with a PB.
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
Yes. I always do.
General Comments:
Vaumigny is an old mature 35 acre lake set in beautiful surroundings, tree lined, and stocked with huge carp, Catfish and the French record Sturgeon. This lake is not easy, and I am sure that some anglers will struggle as this is a big lake. Previous experience or knowledge of bigger than normal French carp waters will surely benefit most anglers. It is a totally natural lake that is stuffed with natural food and the fish behave naturally, following the wind and natural food sources etc. As with all big waters not all the fish are monsters, so you may have to catch a few smaller specimens before the bigger carp grace the net. At the far end of the lake there were 2 Dutch and 2 Belgian anglers that benefited by the wind direction during the beginning of the week and landed some of the bigger specimens in the lake, proving that the fish that Ron and myself caught were some of the smaller specimens. Don't hesitate get on the phone and book this venue as it will be one of those that will be fully booked in the future.
