Details of your catches:
We had a lovely week at Zentelles where I took my 14 year old son for his first French carp fishing experience. The swim and facilities were top notch with a really friendly and helpful owner. I never thought I would say it but power points in every swim really is a luxury. Fishing wise the conditions were roasting hot, but still managed 10 nice carp, mainly 20's to high 30's. I would recommend this venue, especially on an exclusive with 3 to 4 anglers, plenty of space for all.
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
The far margins seemed to be the hot spot, although don't overlook other areas, they will fizz and give themselves away. Only other thing to note, like many venues in the summer, there are a small number of Poisson Chat, so come prepared with hard baits and recommend stiff rigs.

The best tactics were hardened hook baits and plastics on stiff multi rigs

General Comments:
Zentelles is a really cool gravel pit in the Champagne region. One of my favourite areas in France for carp fishing and this lake has that same energy that the other great lakes in this area have. A large island separates the lake really well and it gives you a really nice feeling of space in every swim. The fishing was challenging but also very rewarding as we had to navigate the poisson chat, which can be very active when its hot, but using the right tactics after the first 24hours and we had no issues at all after switching to harder hook baits and stiff hook link materials. The carp fight hard, it's a nice short drive from Calais and the facilities were great. Everything to like about this place and nothing to fault.

Details of your catches:
I fished peg 2 and had:
9 x mirrors - 57lb, 42lb, 41.1/2lb, 38.1/2lb (twice), 35lb, 28lb, 23lb, 19lb.
9 x commons - 39lb, 33lb, 32.1/2lb, 28.1/2lb, 24lb, 22lb, 20lb(twice) and a stunning little 6 lb koi/ ghostie.
I had the only sturgeon in lake 4 times at 31lb.
I had 10+ grass carp, most around 20lb but had a few stunners (even tho I don’t like grass carp) of 58.1/2lb, 58lb and 38lb been the biggest.
George, fishing peg 1, had around 12 fish majority all 20lb+, biggest 34lb.
In total we had over 40 different fish, with a couple of repeat catches.
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Pop ups on stiff ronnie rigs over boilie particles and pellets.
Were the facilities what you expected?
These are the best facilities you can get when fishing from a bivvy. The mains power at each peg is brilliant (advise taking a long extension) - everything charged easily and I had my fridge in my bivvy for milk, drinks etc. Each peg also has its own fridge freezer in main cabin. Loved bringing our rods in and using the kitchen to make our evening meals - everything required supplied and ready to use in cabin. Very good shower too.
Were you happy with them?
Very happy, nothing to fault.
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Yes.

Always recommend.
General Comments:
Brilliant venue, only going to get better as Thierry carries on with the hard work to remove more snags. We had a very good week weather wise - warm weather came 20+ most days after a cold snap which got the carp showing themselves around the lake cruising margins, sunning themselves. However fish caught all times of day/night.
This is a very well stocked lake which was really visible walking around in sun fish everywhere - make sure you take polarised glasses.
Also all fish are tagged, you scan the number then add it to an app which saves and shows you progression of the fish caught. It’s brilliant to see how often caught and fluctuations in weight and you also see the fishes name.
