A big bed of bait on the gravel bars worked the best glugged with liquid attraction. We were putting 10kg per night down from the boat at the end and the catches started to come.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes. A big freezer, 3 fridges and a shower.

Were you happy with them?

Yes. It was suitable for the 7 of us.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

I would, but I would not take any more than 5 anglers. The venue fishes predominantly at the cabin side. Very few fish came to the other side of the lake.

Both Angling Lines and Sophie were fantastic. Bridget is a credit to the business.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Bit of both fish came to heavy beds of baits where others caught on light scatterings of boillie. Smelly baits seems to work better, did seem very peggy most fish came to two pegs furthest corner swim on the cabin side and directly behind the spit corner swim had a big snag it cost a good few fish. When the water is low and the weed is up really only suites 5 anglers tops we fished 4 on the cabin side really pressed for room think the pressure made the angling a little more tricky. Would recommend taking the smaller spit out completely make alot more room and help the fish move around.

Yeah no real complaints electrics tripped out a few times but sophie was always on hand to sort it.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Yes if the spit was removed, sophie was fantastic couldn't do enough to help came down and enjoyed a beer with us one day really lovely people. As with angling lines couldnt do enough to help.

Could be a great lake think if the water level is low tho needs to be advertised as a lake for no more than 5 anglers,

Different tactics as the week went along. Starting with small pva bags (boillies & crumbs) later in the week large beds of boillies, pellets & particle.
Boillies used were varied (acive8, nutcracker, CC Moore Pacific tuna)

Yes, the toilet flush needs replacing. Every thing was clean and tidy. Must also mention that there are litter bins all around the lake all with fresh bags.... a lovely clean and tidy lake, a lot of care is taken to providing a great time

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Yes, however I would say that it would be better suited to no more than 5 people fishing. Possibly due to the weather this year, there was a lot of extremely thick weed meaning it was virtually impossible to fish some of the areas. So a large party would struggle to find enough space. Also need to say thanks to Sophie, she made us feel very welcome & was able to help with any issues that we may have had

Definitely, this is our groups 3rd trip with Angling lines (2 trips to blue lake & this trip here) . The staff are ALWAYS helpful when you speak to them on the phone, able to sort out any changes that maybe needed. We have already booked for next year (a different lake) & started looking for 2020

General Comments:

This was our second visit and unfortunately our last until the lake undergoes some serious changes. The second spit needs completely removing as 95% of the fish came from the cabin side of the lake. (I understand they tried to deepen the channel in the winter but were unsuccessful) but we feel it needs completely removing. The lake needs netting and the small cats and bream removing as the current system for removing the cats just won’t work. We also found the lake full of snags which cost us a fair few fish. This lake has massive potential but needs a lot of work first.

*Angling Lines note* Thank you for your feedback. The lake do intend to finish the work to the spit that was rained off part-way through last winter. We believe that the smaller catfish population has been reduced over the last year, but will discuss the bream and snags you mention with the lake owners.
