General Comments:

The lake is a really easy drive from Calais and there are local shops nearby and a kabab shop that delivers to the lake in the next town (just eat France)

General Comments:

There have been a lot of comments previously saying the the lake is weedy. Yes there is weed, but it is mainly blanket weed in the margins. We hardly brought anything back in when recasting, most of the time the rigs came in clear. We did not have to use the boat once, even with the big cat who took my mate half way round the lake. I recommend using a baitboat with a fishfinder to find the flat spots, as that is where we were picking up our fish.

Details of your catches:

3 Cats to 76lb 12 Carp to 49.8lb

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Mainline Cell DNA baits Tigernut pop up Pop up corn Fished using ronnie/360 rigs, snowman or on slipD rigs.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes, basic but clean and everything you'd expect for a drive and survive trip. 3 fridges, large chest freezer for frozen bait, kitchen area with plenty of charging points, toilet and shower. Sophie the host was also very nice and available on the phone to resolve any issues.

Were you happy with them?

Yes

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Yes

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

Yes definitely, used angling lines a couple of times now. Very helpful with everything

General Comments:

The lake was very weedy, but if you spend the time to find the spots the rewards are definitely there. We fished to the back of the weed beds where the fish seemed to be holding. Although we wouldn't class this as a runs water. Only 3 carp coming in at under 30lb. Be prepared to use the boat as the fish tend to head straight into the weed when hooked and can be very difficult to get out whilst being on the bank.
