Water level was high but did not affect the fishing. Worth fishing zig rigs as fish were in upper layers at times.

Details of your catches:
Over 100 fish in total. 23 x Doubles to 19'8. 67 x Twenty's to 29'4. 9 x Thirtys to 36'1. 3 x Fourty's to 43'3. 5 x Grass Carp to 28.11. 4 x Cats to 17'0 and 5 x Bream. (all carp were mirrors no commons out all week)
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Started off by spodding large areas at middle distance and had some decent results. We all found the best tactic to be boating the baits out to long range(100 yards or so).The island and the spit were both under water so we fished around 10 meters off both features(just in case of sunken trees) and the fishing was non stop from then on. We used all sorts of boilies as hook baits and didnt really have one that didnt catch a fish, any good quality boilie should work but we had the best results on T1, Quest Raja and Crab in 15mm single and snowman. We used seed as the main particle along with with pellets and maize to put down a good bed of bait. Not really nessasary to put kilo after kilo of bait in, they seemed to hold in the same area with just a few freebies and a couple of good handfulls of the seed once in the area.

General Comments:
When we arrived the lake was well up(according to the owner over 2 meters). It was quite easy to identify the spit and the island as the bushes and trees were visable but the smaller bushes that line the bank around the pool are fully submerged and we couldnt see where the snags would be. The lads who were fishing the week before said they had fished from the bank where the toilet/kitchen block is and had done ok so we decided to follow suite. We started off fishing medium range with the spod and seed and had 4 or 5 fish in the first day before sunset. Not many fish at night and that was the pattern over the whole week. Second day changed tactics to long range towards the sunken features and that is where most of our fish came from.We all fished just in front of the spit and island and the fish seemed to hold there all week. The rest of the week was hectic to say the least and on more than one occasion all three of us couldnt get all of our rods in the water at one time because before you can re-bait and set up one of the other alarms is screaming off!!We were landing most of the fish with waders after the first day as the sunken bushes around the pool lost us quite a few fish at the start of the week.As someone else has said if you are going to this venue at the time when the water may be up i would advise bringing some waders to help land the fish as far out as possible. Apart from the under water bushes this is a great venue in a great location. All the fish we caught were in great condition and most gave up a good fight. The owner was very helpful and did as much as he could for us. Would recommend this venue and would certainly go back. Almost constant action all week!

Details of your catches:
I had 21 fish in total, biggest 42.3. My mate had approx 15 beating his PB with a 30. Also had a 17lb cat
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Used KG1, didn't use as much bait as i thought i would, so maybe if i'd have used more i would have caught more :-) Moved swims after 2 days, top end of lake produced most fish.
Were the facilities what you expected?

Were you happy with them?
Yes, but had a problem with the power for 2 days. When Bernard returned form his holiday he got brought us down a bottle of bubbly by way of apology.

Details of your catches:
1 Mirror 19lb 8oz ( Lost fish due to hidden snags caused by high water level )
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Tried everything. Singles, Bags, Beds of Bait, Zigs, Bait Boated to Spit, Trickled bait into carpy looking spots all week. With the fish having so much more water to explore due to the high levels it was very difficult to locate them, let alone get them to feed on our bait with all the naturals that were about.
Were the facilities what you expected?
Basic but you get what you pay for.
Were you happy with them?
They are very basic as described, we used the Portacabin as our base as this was the only place we could bivvy up. We had to fix the sink, toilet and shower because they all leaked. The hot water tank packed up (we contacted the owner and he fixed it within 2 hours) The cooker was broken on arrival (the owner again fixed it but we took our own anyway.)
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Only as a summer venue.

General Comments:
I contacted Angling Lines to book a cheap no thrills drive and survive fishing holiday in France for me and my Dad, I was offered Beaurepaire within my budget and i got exactly that a no thrills fishing holiday.
It does state on the website that this venue is prone to flood early in the year, 3 weeks before our departure i watched the rainfall in France via the internet and was happy to see very low rainfall thus i was confident the venue would be ok. On arrival i could not believe my eyes (hopefully Angling Lines will show the attached photo's. The trees shown are usually 3 feet away from the waters edge.) The spit which is a known hot spot was completely flooded with only the tops of the trees sticking out. The brochure says the venue is around 7 acres but with the extra water it was more like 11. With all this extra water the places to bivvy up were few and far between, fishing was a nightmare due to hidden snags, massive variations in depth and a great difficuly to know if you were fishing in the lake or a submerged tree or bush. The one fish we did manage to land was stalked from a cut out in the bank that is usually for bivvying up, this cut out was 5 foot under water. The owner although he speaks no English (his daughter translates)is a top guy, no problem is to small, he even offered us a free weeks fishing!
Beaurepaire is a very basic venue and i am sure in the summer months when water levels drop it will be a cracking runs water as advertised. Unfortunately it was not all it cracked up to be for me!
