Details of your catches:

80 Fish in total: Biggest being 37.4, 5 x 30's, 12 x Catfish upto 21lb

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Big bed of bait and fish on top of. Any bait works when you get the fish on the feed.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Ok

Were you happy with them?

Yes........ The water level was very high and there were bushes below the water. Line was getting snagged and there were no swims.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Yes.... when the water level was lower i would.

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

Yes

General Comments:

Water levels made you lose lots of fish. Apart from that everything else was brill. Thanks Steve.

General Comments:

Paul, Terry and I had a great time. Not many fish because of conditions but Mr Cousin's family made us so welcome, we didn't just feel like customers, we felt like friends. Looking forward to our next trip in September.

Details of your catches:

I had six runs landing five Carp in total, with the best fish going 20lb 10oz.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Casting or sending a bait boat out to any showing fish. Single 20mm or double 12mm bottom baits caught all the fish. A small PVA bag of pellets or stick mix was attached to the hook and the lead was wrapped in boilie paste, this seemed the best tactic.

Were the facilities what you expected?

yes - Just as the brochure and dvd show

Were you happy with them?

General Comments:

The venue is really easy to find and is without doubt ideal for anyone travelling to France for the first time. The weather conditions were not ideal for my trip with freezing fog during the night(rods were frozen to my rod rests in the morning) and high pressure during the days. Despite these conditions the fish fed during the night when conditions were at there coldest. I really enjoyed my short time on the venue, and had to work really hard for any bites, this was probably due to the weather conditions. The owner was very nice and came to see how I was doing on the Sunday and took the trouble to explain the improvements he has planned for the venue, which I am sure will make it even better for anglers next year.

The changeable weather made the fishing a bit tricky, but I worked hard at it and in the end managed to land five fish from six runs with the best fish going 20lb 10oz.

Just a quick note to say thanks to everyone at Angling Lines for organising my short trip to Beaurepaire as part of my competition win. I had a really enjoyable couple of days fishing the venue and was only sorry that I was unable to take up the full prize of a weeks fishing. Unfortunately the weather was not at its best during my stay with freezing fog at night and high pressure during the day The weather was so cold during my first night that my rods were actually frozen solid to the rests in the morning. Despite the very cold nights rather strangely all my runs came during the hours of darkness. The owner came to visit me on the Sunday and explained some of the changes (via his daughter translating) he has planned for the next year. I was actually amazed to see the tide mark left around the banks of the venue due to the high water that had been there in the previous weeks. The owner explained that some of the changes were to make the fishing more comfortable during the times of fluctuating water levels, I am sure this will help improve this nice little venue even more. Once again thanks to Angling Lines and the owner for offering this great competition prize to Beaurepaire, which I enjoyed immensely.
