A Lake in the Woods, 23rd Aug
Paul Cooper has provided a cracking write up following his and Jim Kelly's week at Brie...
'It's the middle of August on a Saturday morning when Jim Kelly and I arrived at the stunning location of Brie, with the temperature already in the upper twenties.
The lake in the woods is around 15 acres in size with only 2 double swims, both well capable of fitting 2 bivvies and all the paraphernalia required for a weeks carp fishing in France.
It was Jim's 1st choice of swim, so we both did our leg work well before making any decisions on swims. After plumbing, leading and watching dozens of fish patrolling in front of swim 2, Jim made his decision and chose the left hand side of this swim. The far margins here are within easy casting range of around 70 to 80 yards. Jim chose to fish areas around the far bush lined margin. The water to the right of Swim 2 was heavy with weed and in my opinion was not going to be easy, so a social was not on the cards...'

A 2010 Forum Post, 29th May
Until we get more news & feedback for you on Brie we're relying on feedback we can find from when Ron ran the lake.

Ron's Dream, 20th May
Brie was established as a carp fishery by well known carp angler Ron Woodward. Ron was a well respected figure in the angling world but sadly passed away in 2012. He discovered Brie and went on to set it up to his own specification... and we doubt he could have found a nicer place to do it.
Here's a series of videos made while Ron was setting up the lake. Much of the information in the videos is now incorrect (e.g. the lake is no longer just run as a syndicate - it is now an exclusive lake offered as Drive & Survive) but we felt that they give a great insight into how the fishery was created & the hard work & passion Ron & Trish put into it. They also stand as a lasting reminder of a great personality in the carp fishing world.
