Were the facilities what you expected?
Yes, as shown in photos on Angling Lines website.
Were you happy with them?
Yes, not 5 star but adequate for a weeks fishing.
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Yes, definitely. Lovely venue, owner and lake guardian, a pleasure to talk to even in limited French.
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
Yes, for certain. 6 trips with Angling Lines, all have been a pleasure.
General Comments:
Excellent venue set within the grounds of a picturesque French Estate. Average weight of fish excellent. Quality of fish excellent with some right lumps to be had! Not a manicured lake so may not be everyone's cup of tea but for those who like being out in the wild with deer swimming across the lake next to you it certainly ticks the boxes!

Details of your catches:
27 fish 11x40lbs to 49lb8oz 14x30lbs 2x20lbs
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Fishing small beds of bait to where we seen the fish showing. Had a really good week everything was spot on, like previous feedback said the lakes 2-3ft deep all over but don’t let that put you off the fish will feed in them depths.
Were the facilities what you expected?
Yes they were excellent
Were you happy with them?
Yes very happy
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Yes we plan to return ourselves
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
Yes
General Comments:
Facilities are good shower and toilet were very clean and good hot water up at the farm house couldn’t fault it. The only bad point was the rowing boat on site was broken had a big crack in it and no paddle… this could do with being addressed as it’s the only thing that let this place down. *Angling Lines note* Thank you for your feedback. The rowing boat has now been removed from site.

Details of your catches:
46 carp in total 11 fish over 40lb to 47lb 12oz
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Most fish taken on boilies over pellet and particle with bait boat
Were the facilities what you expected?
Basic but fine, quite a way from lake
Were you happy with them?
Yes everything worked as it should
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Yes definitely but would suggest spring early summer as the water level would be better
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
Definitely, the best in the business
General Comments:
Lovely quiet lake, great fish. This is a shallow lake but don't be put off by the depth, the fish fed well and consistently throughout the week

Details of your catches:
53 carp caught over the week fishing days only and resting the swims at night. Gary Taylor 28 carp caught 40lb+ ×5 - 30lb+ ×18 - 20lb+ ×5 biggest 48lb 12oz. Jeff Wakeling 25 carp caught 50lb+ ×1 - 40lb+ ×5 -30lb+ ×12 -20lb+ ×6 -10lb+ ×1 biggest 50lb 4oz
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
All fish caught on DNA baits S7, only used about 8kg of boilies and 6kg of pellets in total, fish didn't seem to want beds of bait so just used enough for one take at a time, the bulk of the fish seemed to spend most of the week in the middle between the two swims
Were the facilities what you expected?
The showers and toilet are a long way from the lake, there is a toilet on the lake but it's pretty rancid so preferred to use the one up at the shower block, a separate bait freezer would be useful as there's little capacity in the fridge/freezer provided
Were you happy with them?
Basic at best but it is drive and survive
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Brie is a nice lake and the fishing was good so yes
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
Yes,angling lines are always helpful and professional
General Comments:
When we arrived we were greeted by 5 dead carp floating on the lake which was a bit of a shock, Mark the bailiff did come down and remove them but over the week another 6 or 7 popped up dead but we had a good weeks fishing, water level down so most of the lake between 2 and a half to 3 feet deep, fish happy to feed though. *Angling Lines note* Thank you for your feedback. We have discussed this with the owner and a sudden change in pressure meant that a number of carp did float to the surface over a number of days during your stay. Unfortunately to have a number of carp lost each year due to harsh conditions etc is normal but obviously distressing to see. We know that oxygen levels on this lake are absolutely fine (these are checked regularly) and that otherwise the fish and lake are coping well with the heatwaves we have had. The water level is low but only to the same degree as is normal for this lake in the summer. The lake will continue to be closely monitored.
